Account doesn't have permission to access functionality

Have just started account and trying to play gta 5 online error messagesays "your profile does not have the correct permissions to access xbox live functionality "

What do I do when Fortnite says “Your account does not have the correct permissions to access Xbox Live functionality? Xbox 1.

 

Your profile does not have the correct permissions

I have an Xbox live gold account and purchased Plats vs. Zombies for Xbox live. I am able to play the game fine on my account but when my son tries to play on his account he gets the following error. I have him setup on the Microsoft family safety as a
child under my account but don't see anywhere about giving him permission to play this game on Xbox One. Am I missing something?

Basically how do I give him permission to access Xbox live functionality?

Sorry to hear it. At this moment your account is showing as Silver. In order to play online multiplayer games you'll need to have a Gold membership. You can either purchase one via the console using a credit card or paypal or purchase a membership from
your local retailer and add the code to your account.
