Account does not own this game

So I have two xboxes, a series X and an Xbox one. We share the same accounts on it and I play on the main account and my brother plays on his account. We normally were able to play games that my account bought, and he would be able to play the game at the same time I was on my Xbox. Such as when we played Ark, I was able to play on the main account on my Xbox and he played on the Xbox one so we wouldn’t have to buy the same game twice. But recently we ain’t able to play together because when he plays on his account it says he doesn’t own the game. My account has to be signed in for him to play but means we cannot play together anymore as signing into my account on the series x would log it out in the Xbox one. Can someone please help because I seriously don’t feel like buying all the games again

You need to set his Xbox as the Home Xbox using your account, then he will be able to play your games on the Xbox One without you having to log in on it. Info on the Home Xbox setting can be found here https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox

are you sure your account does own the game? make sure your account owns the game or try to log in with the account that own it so you'll be able to install it.

Are you trying to play digitally? Do you own the game on the account you're posting from, or does another account on your console own the game? You can check if your account owns the game by visiting
Microsoft Commerce. If you do not own the game on the account that is trying to launch and play Halo Wars 2, that would be the cause of the issue you're running into.

Does it matter who installs the game? Me, my oldest son, and my youngest son all have different accounts but we belong to the same family account.

My oldest son uses the Home console and signs into that console with his own account. My youngest son has his own console and signs into that console with a different account. If my oldest son installs the game on the Home console will my youngest son be
able to see the game on his own console while signed in with his account? Or does my oldest son have to sign on to both consoles?
