Account does not exist - can't sign into Xbox

Hi,

I have an xbox one and tried to sign in today. My password was not working so i went to reset, go to login to my email and i get the error message 'account does not exist'. My email and account are shown on the login screen so are obviously still there.
I cannot get in contact with any microsoft support and none of the online material has helped.

any help would be appreciated.

No, it's almost like the Microsoft account doesn't exist anymore but it obviously does cause I use it for my computer and my Xbox account which exists but I just can't log into it

You have it correct. WLID1 is now in limbo.

Catch 22 if you will

WLID1 cant recover an account bc an account does not exist and can't create an account bc an account already exists.

Well, no, because the Xbox account didn't exist until I made it. I could have used this email as the alias for my old account had I not mistakenly signed up for a new Xbox account with it. I made the Xbox account, so why can't I delete it from existence, and then use this email as the alias for my old Xbox account?

You can't merge 2 accounts.Just use his existing account to sign up to gold with.
