Account details changed by scammer

Okay so yesterday evening I fell for a scam in which I would get hypixel skyblock gems if I beat him in a duel in game. He asked for my discord in which he sent pictures, of which the first two were of the hypixel store, and the last one was forged when I looked into it later.

Basically the forged screenshot replaced the payment method with “email verification”, I should have known better that this was something that is never required but it was late in the evening so I fell for it. He sent me a number for my Authenticator, and me being stupid, I pressed it. So what he did was he actually changed my account info so that he removed my details including phone number and email address, so I can’t login or fill in the account recovery form since I can’t log in. He changed it to *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***

I have screenshots of the conversation and his discor account, and if necessary I can ask hypixel for the chat logs in which he challenged me to the duel.

I am pretty sure it is not possible to get it back since I can’t fill in the form because my account is compromised, but I would like to know for sure if it isn’t possible since I have saved everything leading up to the event and still have my old email in my Authenticator.

I hope it is possible to get it back since I am out of ideas.

In the recovery form you are asked for an alternative email address to get an answer, the account to recover is the one in possession of the hacker, although it is very difficult to get help through the form, most users with this problem choose to contact a Microsoft agent through the contact page.

Thanks for your reply, I have one question though won’t the data go to the hackers email address when I fill out the form using the email address that it was changed to

If the hacker changed the data you originally had as your primary email, it will be very difficult for you to get your account back.

Please try to follow the hacked or compromised account recovery guidelines of this tool:

If you somehow find the new email address associated with your account, fill out the recovery form with that information.

That's exactly the kind of poor reasoning that a lot of scammers make money from. You can click on a link and think that you are entering your details into the proper site, when you are really handing your details over to the scammers on a fake one. Google
'FIFA ultimate team scammers' for examples of this type of scam.

I am wondering if it's possible to track where they have gone, if it's a single account then they possibly can get the details of the scammer.

I don't know if it's even worth bothering them with it
