    Here we go and mind you I have already talked to Microsoft about this. My situation started on Sunday when I tried logging into Xbox Live and it wouldn't let me. Followed the steps of removing my system cache, deleting profile and redownloading
    it. Wouldn't let me download my profile, called support and here is where the documentation trail started. Came home the next morning and simply changed my Microsoft Live ID on my pc, low and behold it downloaded my profile no problem.

    This is where I run into the real problem. Noticed my gold membership was not there but had been replaced by a silver. Did I call support? You know it but I wanted to see if my subscription was still valid. To be honest I have an automatic renewal
    plan and I set it up about 5 years ago, never really worried about it but wanted to make sure it wasn't on my end. Well I did check the status of it and it was still good up until the 24th of this month.

    So I call up tech support and explain my situation, he gave me a redeem code and when I tried to enter it that is when the billing account locked message came up. He couldn't make sense of it because it wasn't locked on their end. He then suggested
    that I try using my own card to purchase one and I would be refunded the amount back. I agreed and when I tried it didn't give me a mssage it just looped me right back around to the membership option screen again.

    They escalated my problem to, you guessed it, the advocacy team. I am not here to complain, ok maybe a little, but it is more for the people that are having the same problem to find some solice in the fact that they are not alone. I don't know
    if the advocacy team will call or email me but I would prefer that they email me.

    Xbox LIVE billing account has been locked from making purchases........this does not appear if an account under 18 tries to purchase something. They can purchase points unless a parental account had the permissions blocked (even then it would have to be
    a console passcode to block this) Child accounts can make purchases, it happens routinely and most of the time the parent's pocket suffers. If he is a secondary account holder on a family pack subscription, it wouldn't even allow him to have a card on his
    account, only Primary account holder in a family pack may have a card on their account.

    If your console is telling you "Xbox LIVE billing account has been locked from making purchases", you can go to billing.microsoft.com, sign in, and see what may be going on. You will still have to call billing support to get them to unlock the account. 18004MYXBOX
    then press 1, and press 1 again during the prompts. This will connect you with billing.

    Im in the same situation. I havent contacted support yet though in hopes that it gets fixed up soon.

    I suggest you to update your billing info, if it's already updated, remove and verify them again.

    I wouldn't hold your breath on them getting it fixed. All week I haven't been able to anything. Yes I have tried every possible troubleshooting scenerio. That includes updating my billing account and yes the thread should have read "billing account locked
    but not really". Was tired yesterday trying to figure this out myself so right before I called it a day I made this post in hopes to get some form of answer but I'm still at a loss.
