Daft Badger is correct there is no way to "hide" your avatar from friends to see.

When you make a child account, you can change birthdate on
account.microsoft.com. Unfortunately you are unable to change it on
Xbox.com it is permanent there. There are ways to change it with proving your age:

I am so sorry about the previous answers here since they did not understand your question obviously and did not give you the right answer. About your issue, I am sorry but that's not impossible. If you
no longer have access to the Xbox One console where you saved your Microsoft account, you won't be able to remove the account remotely. However, you can change your password, which will disable access to your Microsoft account on the console to which you no
longer have access. Here's how:

1. Visit your Microsoft account Security page.
2. Enter a password if you’re prompted to do so.
3. Select Change password and then follow the steps.
