Account Alias Flawed and Not intuitive

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Yes, changing the alias of the account is not the same as Transferring the gamertag and content over to a new Microsoft account. At this time, there is no way to Transfer gamertags and content over to another
account.

Accounts are supposed to be created with emails that belong to the Gamertag holder. I'm sorry to say that this cannot be changed by anyone here on the forums or by live support agents.

Note - creating your son a new account will be the same as them starting over again. There is no way to open a new account with current gamer ID tag as you stated, as that ID is attached to your account.

Also, please do not remove/delete your Hotmail from this account. Doing so would delete the email entirely.

Yes then Microsoft needs to correct this as this is a flaw with the system.

At the time he was set up as a gamer was set up under my name and account because it had to be done that way because you didn't have an option back in the day. My daughter is child account so it should be easier then.

This should be going to Corporate Office to have straightened out as there is no way it is an option to lose Gamer ID or points associated with this account. It is not even as simple as transferring my hotmail account / email address to him as it is my name.
I don't think he would want that. I also don't think a young man wants his mothers name associated to his account. I am more than certain he would like his name, his gamer ID and points moved into his own account.

Can you please escalate this to Corporate as with privacy laws (especially in Canada) this should be something that should be changed as there is no way a young man should be going into his mothers email or account information. He is a teenager now and should
be able to continue playing with gamer ID and points or Microsoft provides a reimbursement in the amount of points he has accumulated over the years and therefore starting over is not a heart attack.

This is not a friendly system and not considering what people have paid over the years to accounts and believe this should be rectified.
