accidentally reinstall whole game

I was putting in my disk as my xbox one was starting up and it made me reinstall my whole game. it was destiny 2 before the weekly reset when there was an automatic update. not sure why it made me reinstall the whole game

Hey there random!

That's definitely weird that it had you reinstall the game all over again when it was already installed. Have you been able to complete the installation of the game already or have you ran into any problems with the installation?

I would advise that you fully
Restart your Console once the game has been fully installed and see if this happens again.

If you cancel an update, you'll need to install the whole game again

This answer does not address or clarify the reasoning of having to re download the entire game for a small update. I am having the same problem and am having to download the entire game for an update that stated it was less than 1gb.

Unfortunately when you cancel an update the game is removed, I'm afraid you will have to redownload the game again.

I appreciate the reply. It’s funny Microsoft would have two incredibly popular games with the ability to uninstall and reinstall content but if you accidentally reinstall something you don’t want you’re screwed.
