    Accidentally muted a friend, can't unmute!


    So yeah, I accidentally muted a friend and can't no matter what I do. Only halo 5 in-game even claims he's muted in the first place, and everywhere else, including his profile regardless of whether or not I access it through "show gamercard" option or friend
    list. He can hear me just fine but I can't hear him at all.

    The unmute option doesn't even usually show up in halo 5 and when it does and I press it nothing happens.

    So far I've tried muting him everywhere else and then unmuting him, holding XB1 power button and turning it on again, checking my privacy settings, changing language and checking the settings again, turning my mic to max volume and repeatedly muting/unmuting
    him. My NAT says open, last I checked. There's no other profiles on the console either.

    There are some possibilities I can think of in this situation:

    1. Problem with halo 5.

    2. System error, nuff said.

    3. I missed/misunderstood something in the settings. Unlikely, considering halo 5 shows he's muted. Also, I've triple checked them now.

    4. Something wrong with my mic, rather unlikely considering he can hear me, and I've never done anything to damage it.

    5. Something wrong with his mic. More plausible, but has some evidence against it as he can hear me and halo 5 shows him as muted.

    I have no idea if this is the right place to post this, but I'd really appreciate help with this issue if possible.

    Muted Friend - Can't Unmute

    So I muted my friend on Xbox Live as a joke because he was blaring music. I muted him through the Xbox profile in the party chat, not through game chat, and at first it did not work. However, once I played with him the next day, it suddenly had him muted
    and now I cannot talk to him at all. I've tried going through his profile and unmuting him from there, but nothing works. I also tried restarting my Xbox, but it still does not work. I can hear my other friend in the same party just fine. Help?

    exactly what happened to me I spammed unmute and stopped and at one point it was muting and unmuting without me pushing so i feel like it's an extremely delayed bug

    I also have this issue and so does my son. He has a friend and his friend is unable to unmute him. He didn't place him on mute in the first place. He tries to unmute on his friends list but it just reverts back. I have his friend on my list and he is muted
    under my account....through choice :). But I too can't unmute him now. Tried on my friends list, reverts back to muted. Tried by going under my profile, going to following, selecting muted, unmuting him there.....still the same.

    Anybody got any ideas? Could Fortnite have anything to do with it? Tried going in to party, then going to in game chat, leaving it for 10 secs, going back to party and unmuting. Has worked for some....not for me. Please, help me. my son won't stop moaning
    about it. Is it something that just resolves itself or is that it?

    mic and audio

    If your mic has some sort of button to mute/unmute yourself try looking for that, however, if it doesn't then you should make sure you accidentally didn't put your Microphone to off/muted on the audio settings. If you have the microphone on and you still
    can't speak then increase your mic sensitivity. Other then that good luck tryin to make your mic work again.

    Did you try to mute and unmute your friend or undo and re-friend? Also try mutating and unmuting it in the Xbox Companion app.

    Friend can't hear me, but he's the only one

    If it's just that specific friend, I'd tell him to mute you and then unmute or even block and unblock
