Accidentally created new Microsoft Account

Good evening,

My husband accidentally created a new Microsoft account then created a live gold account (and Halo) before realising he already had a Microsoft account that he had been using for a while and used for Skype.

We would like to merge the two accounts or delete the first account and move the Live gold to his proper account.

Sounds like you accidentally created a new account overtop the gamertag that already existed. Follow the steps at this link for help on changing it.

Delete My Xbox Account Without Deleting My Microsoft Account

I accidentally created an Xbox account with my Microsoft account but now I want to delete it, but how do I without deleting my Microsoft account?

Sorry to hear you hit some snags. Unfortunately there isn't a way for the player to complete this action. Your only choice is to call
Microsoft Phone Support so they can assist you with the Halo refund and Gold membership transfer. Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks

Sounds like you accidentally created a new tag overtop your existing one. Please create a new email address and follow the instructions at the link below to move the tag to it.

Have you tried logging into stickybeef6 on the console and changing the Microsoft Account associated there to another one?

The issue you are having is usually caused by creating a new profile accidentally and not from changing the email associated with the account.

Sounds like you accidentally created an account overtop the existing one. No problem though. Simply create a new dummy email address and follow the steps at the link below to change the email associated with the account you're posting with.
