Accidentally created a second gamer tag on same email as first

my brother has an xbox one. he has a gamer tag connected to an email that is using up 90 something % of the xbox storage. I have accidentally created a second gamer tag on the same email as the first and can no longer get into the first gamer tag that has
all that data on it. how do I get back into the first gamer tag and get rid of this accidental second, empty one? the xbox still says that 90 something % of the storage is being used so I am hoping all the old game data has not been deleted. there’s only one
account showing (the new one) so I can’t just click on the old gamer tag.

I accidentally created a second gamertag because i clicked on an email from Xbox offering 160 points. can i combine the two accounts?

my game tag has been changed

It sounds like you just accidentally created a new account instead of logging in as your own tag. Try logging out of this account and using your normal emails address and password for your regular account.

first of all you can not have 2 different gamer tags on one email address so there must be a different email address associated with the original gamer tag your best bet would be to contact xbox support at support.xbox.com/contact-us and give them your gamer
tag and if they can verify your account they can give you the email address associated with your original gamer tag

Created on Xbox, finished on Xbox.com because the Xbox kept telling me to create a new account. Finished up on web site, including a number of activation link emails; reset gamer tag on Xbox.com because no way to do it on Xbox. And when it says "first name",
is that first name or gamer tag?

So the gamer tag associated with my email (the adult) is there to stay or can I delete that gamer tag and create my own? Then I could create a new profile for son #1 and a new gamer tag.

I have figured out/created a new profile and gamer tag for son #2.

So I would like to:

change the gamer tag that is connected to my email account (the adult).

If possible I would like to keep my son's gamer tag and just move it to the email account/profile I created for him... (I'm pretty sure you said I couldn't do this but just checking?

Thank you Puppy! So then what about the second account what happens to that because it has the same email id , i even tried entering his first account eg; Jack 123 its throws an error saying choose another gamer tag. Thats the issue i want the fisrt Gamer
tag because it has a lot of skins vbucks etc.. 😭

also if the email u wish to use is already i n use by another gamer tag u will have to either cancel that account or change that ones email first(the second option is probably faster).
