Accidental Game Purchase Refund

Hello everyone,

Well, I guess I'm learning a hard lesson here. I thought we had setup our xbox to prevent our kids from making purchases without our permission, but it appears I am mistaken. Our son purchased Indiana Jones this morning for $19.99. This is a game that
we already own, and that he plays regularly. He was simply looking to play the game, and being as young as he is didn't realize the disk was required.

So a few questions;

1) How can we properly setup parental controls to prevent this from happening again?

2) Is it possible to "undue" this transaction? From what I can tell, he hasn't even played the game yet. I think he got stuck in the downloading area after it was purchased. The reality is, I'm aware that we are somewhat responsible for what happened
here (although I would argue microsoft could do a much better job... simply prompting for a passcode would work). At the end of the day, we would be quite satisfied just stopping this purchase and simply spending the money on a game that WE DON'T HAVE!

I hope that isn't too much to ask. If someone can please reply it would be greatly appreciated. We do purchase games on a fairly regular basis, and we are generally very happy with our xbox. I'm hoping this can be resolved

L.A noire rockstar pass issue.

There are no refunds for accidental purchases on Xbox LIVE, as the information on each purchase states.

 

Well...customer service...

I've had one refund done in the past and it was over an accidental purchase of Battlefield 4 season pass. The lady handled it really well and explained to me they are not suppose to refund stuff like that but since I called immediately she authorized the refund. My intentions was to purchase the game and season pass together but chose the wrong one.

 

the only way to stop this from happening again is set up a password on your account so only you can log in if they cannot log in they cannot buy stuff. Or you can make sure there is no card on file to buy stuff, or setup an account just for them. and sadly
there is no refunds on anything bought on the marketplace you could TRY to contact support and ask but 99% sure they will say sorry you bought it you own it even if you already own a disc copy sorry.

I'm sorry but any games bought from the Microsoft store will not be refunded.

All items purchased or rented from Xbox Live Marketplace, using the Web or your Xbox 360 console, are non-refundable. - www.xbox.com/en-GB/Marketplace/FAQ





You can always set up a parental lock for downloads.

I have the same problem. I purchased Tomb Raider (2013) for Xbox 360 for $8.00 as a huge discount for Xbox Live Gold. I already have it for Xbox One called Definitive Edition, and wanted the 360 version gone because it was too buggy than the other version.
Is there some was I can get my $8.00 back?
