    Accessories Application unable to Update. Cannot be used.


    So tonight I tried to launch the Accessories Application, and when I did i was prompted to update the app. It went to about 80% and then stopped for a few minutes. I tried to launch the app and it said that there was a problem updating the app and my options
    were to Try again, check network settings, or cancel.

    So far I've followed the troubleshooting on Xbox.com and pretty much got to the step where it wants me to do an offline diagnostic. My Xbox is working fine, it's just the app that's having issues.

    With the current state of the application, I cannot use any custom settings on my controller now. Right now my Elite Controller is stuck just like a regular controller.

    Is anyone else having issues with the Accessories Application and the update from today?

    I just got my xbox one elite today and the controller is pointless because I cant map anything. Spoke to a rep and they ended up on telling me to wait till the app is fixed.

    I am having the same issue with the app, says it needs an update but then immediately says there was a problem with the update. I suspect the app update to fix the trigger labels is corrupt or something like that. Just got off a chat with MS support, they
    said they are aware of the issue but still looking into it. Would be nice if the status page was updated to list this issue, Elite was released today in AU, going to be a lot of people with the same problem.

    Me too same issue. Been waiting for the elite console bundle and picked up today but so far have been unable to update the app. Same error messages as above. Really frustrating as was looking forward to configuring the controller. Hopefully will be fixed
    very soon. Thought it might just be me so relieved to see other people with the same issue! Cheers

    Hey, guys! If your Accessories App is showing a regular controller instead of your Elite Controller, you need to get your controller replaced. There is nothing wrong with the app, but the controller isn't updating as it should and that indicates that you
    have a controller that needs to be replaced. The fastest option is to try your retailer you got your controller from, however if they don't have any in stock, you will need to
    contact us through phone to get a replacement controller in warranty.

    If you have your replacement and it's still causing you issues in the Accessories App, then please post back so that we can look into this further!

    The issue is we can't access the accessories app which once installed tries and fails to update itself. Simply comes up that there is a problem updating with options to try again, cancel, or check network (which is fine). Really frustrating.

    Would be helpful if Microsoft could provide an update of when this will be fixed for all those people who have purchased the elite controller or elite console bundle.

    Assuming this is the app that is available in the Xbox Store (not the one in the NXOE or the Windows Store), we have passed this on to the right people that can look into it. This does not appear to be an issue with your controllers.

    Yep the one in the Xbox Store. Downloads to Xbox one hard drive ok, but then tries to update before launching and fails.

    Confirmed. This is the one from the Xbox store. I followed all five troubleshooting steps up to doing a full power-off of the Xbox and even tried uninstalling and then re-installing the app again with the same problem. Anytime I try to launch, it tells me
    an update is needed but then that there was a problem with the update. The app was working fine when I first got the controller.

    Can confirm from another thread that the following will allow the app to work

    1.) Delete the app

    2.) Go to settings > system > clear local saved games (reboots xbox)

    3.) Download the app again

    Have just remapped paddles, very happy!
