Accessories App Needs an Update

Hi,

I just got a new Elite One with the Elite Controller (this replaced a Halo Version One). I was able to update the Xbox, download COD map packs etc. etc. Online is working. I downloaded and installed the Accessories App, but when I try to launch it, it
alerts me that it needs an update.

No Matter how many times I choose "Try Again" it reports "There was a problem with the update" and obviously fails to update. I have uninstalled the app, hard reboot the box, re-installed/download... same issue... when launching I am told it needs an update,
which won't download.

Are there problems with this update right now? Any suggestions on how to get this to work/update properly? Network test for Live and Multiplayer both report good. I have tried on Wired and Wireless connections. I am on Live and have downloaded all kinds
of other stuff.

Let's manually update the controllers on your Windows 10 PC through the Xbox Accessories app. To proceed, kindly download the "Xbox Accessories" app from the
Windows Store. This is a separate app from the Xbox app. The app will enable you to update your controller. Refer to How

same problem tried everything came down to asking a xbox rep in sup and they told me to wait till the app is fixed

 

Yeh same thing happened to me, i wish they would fix it asap i wanna configure this bloody controller! been waiting since 8 am come on xbox!!

 

Well good to know that it is not only me or something I have configured wrong. I guess I will wait.....

 

I'm having this problem too. Frustrating to own a new Elite controller but to be unable to try different controller profiles.

 

Same issue here. The update started last night but failed. I've tried all of the same TSing as you did with no success. Hopefully once it's back up and running we'll have the option to customize the thumbstick sensitivity instead of the 4-5 standard options
we are given now.

 

Same here.

It messed up my Elite Controller too, because now the mic on my [SONY] headphones doesn't work. Yet it works when i plug it into a regular controller...

 

Can confirm from another thread that the following will allow the app to work

1.) Delete the app

2.) Go to settings > system > clear local saved games (reboots xbox)

3.) Download the app again

Have just remapped paddles, very happy!

 

@benimus, won't that mean we'd have to reinstall every game we have installed? ...

 

Glass Barbs - no just deletes the game saves. Game saves are both local and saved in the cloud so deleting the local saves just removes them from your console. There is an option under settings to clear local game saves. If you do this when you next play
a game, the game will have to sync with the cloud saves - takes around 30 seconds or so with a process % bar appearing. That said I'm not convinced that this is the solution as I purchased an elite console with no local game saves on the hard drive anyway
so there would be nothing to clear. First thing I did was install the accessories controller app and it doesn't work and still won't update. You can try clearing your local saves and see if it works for you though - shouldn't do any harm other than having
to sync all your games next time you play them.

 

ohh thanks!, how can i check that i'm actually using the cloud i have a feeling it isn't activated or i may have turned it off when i got my xbox, if that is even possible :')

 

Xbox one automatically saves to the cloud so as long as you are connected to the Internet it will happen automatically. Don't think you can disable this but I could be wrong. Hope this helps.

 

Should add this feature lets you sign into another Xbox one, put your game disk in, and carry on from your last save once it's synced with the cloud.
