Accessing the two free games a month with xbox live

I am completely computer and xbox360 illiterate. I got my son a xbox360 and signed him up for xbox live gold. I understood that he was suppose to have access to two free games a month. I can't figure out how to access them. Can someone help me?

I just won a 2TB Xbox One S, what do I do now?

EA Access will give you tons of games to get you started.
Just go ahead and spring for the full year, it is less than $30 and completely worth it.
If you get Live you will also get four free games a month, two 360 (yours to keep forever, regardless of Live sub), and two XB1 titles(yours to keep forever, but can only access while having an active Live account).
So for for under $80 you will be set for the year.

 

On the xbox 360's dashboard, under the "start" or "home" section (where the tile to start up a game is at) there should be one giant tile often offering or advertising a new game, under that big tile there are two little ones, the one on the right is the
one you go to to get your free game.

You can get two games per month, but you cant get them both at the same time since when one "expires", the other one becomes available.

On the home page of the xbox where it ask you if you want to play the game you will see where it says thing are on sale and that is where you need to go to get your free games.
