Accessing satellite or cable dvr

Discus and support Accessing satellite or cable dvr in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; i cant be the only one wanting to access my dvr from either xbox one controller or media remote. even if we could learn a button to the media remote...     Accessing satellite or cable dvr


    i cant be the only one wanting to access my dvr from either xbox one controller or media remote. even if we could learn a button to the media remote would be awesome. if the dvr thing is figured out i only need the media remote as my only remote.

    I think that is game DVR, not cable or satellite DVR

    Game needed to show the full power of this console

    Plants vs Zombies you can play boss mode on SmartGlass... DR3 you can access your missions and receive new missions on your SmartGlass enabled device... I believe BF4 has something similar to DR3... not certain but I think I read it somewhere. Plus now
    you can control your cable/satellite box from SmartGlass... even accessing your DVR and other functions. For this being in its infancy I think SmartGlass integration is fantastic.

    Why wouldn't it be able to control DVR functionality? It provides it's own guide and controls the channel changing of the cable box, DVR controls should be a cinch.

    hiya what you could also try is in the device control section of the settings make sure you have the cable or satellite box set to Virgin Media Tivo ...so CABLE OR SATELLITE BOX BRAND set to Virgin Media and then CABLE OR SATELLITE BOX MODEL set to TiVo....this
    worked for me and should give you access to the functions you want.

    The one problem I see is if your cable/satellite box is also a DVR. It seems to me that we will need an HDMI splitter between the box and the X1 so that you can use the DVR as one does now (since I don't think the X1 will control those functions) and yet
    still send live TV to the X1 to do what it does.
