Accessibility for the blind

I'm wanting to buy an Xbox One for my son who is blind. I've heard that the New Xbox One experience enables blind gamers to access the console?

I understand that a screen reader will read the on screen text but how will this work on the more complex in game situations like GTA, CoD or Forza for example?

Will it tell you what is happening on the screen?

There are two versions of the beta, one for those that have redeemed a code early or have EA Access, and another that is for the pre-orders. Make sure you are trying to download the correct one, check the games under the free beta in the store, one of
those will be the one you need.

So i preordered BattleField V and downloaded the beta today but for some reason it says I do not have early acces what do I need to do to fix this problem???!!!

Unfortunately, there's no audio description in games. It's something that would be near impossible for the Xbox to do itself and extremely costly for developers to add into a game. I'm not even sure where they'd start. It's all very well for cut scene's
I guess, but for actual gameplay it would be extremely complicated and by the time one thing has been described, half a dozen other things will have happened.

The screen reader basically works for the dashboard and in some apps. To my knowledge that's as far as it goes. Any Blu-Ray's or DVD's must have there own Audio Descriptive capabilities along with pretty much any media that is consumed on the console.

Hello, MONTY NOSH! The feature you are thinking of is the Narrator feature. At this time I believe the Narrator is only able to read aloud that are directly related to the Xbox OS such as which tab is selected, your friends, what application is highlighted,
ect. It does not support games, it will be left up to the game developer if hearing impaired features are added.

No, cloud gaming lets you play cloud-enabled game pass games without the need for your console. Though, its console-based games. Whether you're on a PC or mobile device and you have game pass Ultimate.

On the other hand, remote play lets you access your games on your console remotely so instead of seeing the output on your TV screen, you'll see it on your mobile device, PC or etc (as long as you have the Xbox app installed).

And to answer your question, the accessibility feature would be available in-game settings so it would depend on each game's features.
