Access to Gold deals across the family

Hi, I have Xbox Gold on our Xbox One console. There is currently a half price deal on Plants v Zombies that my son would like to purchase on his account with his current credit, but the deal is not showing when he logs in and tries to make the purchase.
He is registered as a family member on the Xbox under me, and I had assumed that the Gold membership was valid for all family members. So am I missing something or do Microsoft pick and choose what Gold benefits go across the family. He has previously downloaded
the free games via Gold. Any advice gratefully received.

they have a slight take on the family sharing... family home gold... You designate a console as your home base... anyone, including silvers get access to all your gold content.. games Netflix ETC.. you can then sign into another console.. say a secondary
one in same house, your friends across town etc and still be able to access all your games...as long as they are digital downloads...

Gold on 360 and One

I don't think it will work. Whoever has the One gold account can access 360 gold but the rest of the family will only be gold on the One.

Hello, PioneerBloom837. The Xbox One console is designed to share the games and the gold to all other profiles that sign into that SAME Xbox. You first have to set this up in the settings under 'My Xbox.' Then make sure you set the home console from the
account that has the Gold and games you are trying to share and then you should be all set! Keep in mind, this only shares the games and the gold to all other profiles that sign into that SAME Xbox console! Hope this helps!

I believe the issue here is you are the only Gold member. So only you can take advantage of the Deals with Gold. You can have multiple user son your console - however if none of those accounts have a gold subscription then they cannot take advantage of
the Deals with Gold. You can purchase it on your account then your son will be able to play the game under his own account. Your gold membership does not transfer to any users on the console. Your console gives them the permission to use your content that
you and only you have purchased.

I don't care about backwards compatibility. They'll probably sell the 360 for a while--look at how long the PS2 was out. I get not building that in--it's a lot of cost and overhead.

What'll keep me from buying it will be if they don't make provisions for families (XBL Gold Family memberships, even) to share games across multiple consoles. That will be a deal breaker.

Good news for you. An Xbox One allows membership sharing. That means that all members of your family can share the one Gold Membership across the accounts. This will not work for the 360.

When adding the accounts to the new console be sure to add them to your Family to ensure that they will have access to Live service on the console.
