Access saved games from new console

My 360 got damaged last week and looks like i need to replace it. One of the profiles accessing it is only a local profile, it's not connected to Xbox Live and it is stored on the console memory not on the removable hard drive.

Does anyone know if i move the hard drive to a new 360, will the saved games be accessible to the profiles on that console? I have several games on this profile with a good number of hours clocked up on them and I'd hate to have to start over.

You can certainly redownload your purchased DLC from your download history. On the console, go to System>Accounts>Download History.

As for the saved games, why not just move them to the Cloud so you can access them on the new console.

You get 2 licenses when you purchase a Digital Game, 1 for the console and 1 for the gamertag.
If the seller buys another console and adds their gamertag and makes the new console as their home console then you will lose access to the games.

If the games are on the HDD then you will be able to play them but you may lose access to them in the future or you may not be able to access them at all.

There are some good deals on new consoles with games so worth looking around.

Imo I would buy new, you get a gurantee and any problems you can easily return it and its new and shiny

It depends on which Xbox Hard Drive you have. If you have an old Xbox 360 like the Arcade, that that Hard Drive will not be able to go into a new Xbox Slim or Elite. This means the only way to transfer your files is to have a transfer cable from the Microsoft

Thanks for the reply, but that's not actually my question. I know I can transfer my information across, but my problem is this: One of the profiles is not on the hard drive. it's on the internal memory of the xbox. the xbox has become damaged and i can't
get into it to transfer that profile onto the removable drive. so, if i take the removable drive to another xbox, will i be able to access the saved games from the profile of the old xbox

 

Looks like you are probably out of luck in this case. If the profile was recoverable over Live and you had your game saves on the hard drive, there would not be a problem. But since you state it was an offline profile, then you would not have a way to access
to any of those game saves.
