Accept ToU for child accont

How do I accept ToU for child account.

When I enter the parent account details I am just looped back to the child account to accept the terms.

The parent account details are correct as I can log in with the parent credentials and see the child account in the "Family & Security".

The parent account has 2 factor authentication turned on, but entering a generated app password gives an invalid password message.

I can find no way to remove the child account an assign it to my wife's account (no 2 factor) on-line. We do not have an xbox console.

I have spent 3 days on this so far and it is getting frustrating.

Hey,

From what you have described your account is a child account,

By law a child cannot accept a legal and biding TOU so a parent must accept on there behalf.

It seems that you parental email is very similar to your actual email just spelt incorrectly.

You will have to attempt a PW reset for your parent Microsoft account using
account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx

Then you will be able to accept the TOU

Xbox new update on child's account wont work

I CANNOT ACCEPTS TOU OF XBOX.I SIGN IN PATENTS AND CHILD ACCOUNT BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVE.DO THIS FAST AS POSSIBLE AS.

 

I had the same problem, and the official solutions didn't work for me. (I don't use 2 factor authentication, though, as I understood that it's causing problems with some people, and that disabling it temporarily should work.)

I found an odd fix which worked, but I don't understand why:

1. log out from both child and parent accounts

2. go to the page
live.xbox.com/.../NewTermsOfUse

3. login with parent account and accept the terms

4. logout the parent account

5. go again to
live.xbox.com/.../NewTermsOfUse

6. login now with the child account, accept the terms and give the parent's approval

For some reason, by going through that link the parent's approval worked and didn't end in the infinite loop. No idea why.
