    AC4 - Freedom Cry Will Not Work due to Xbox one?


    So I created a support ticket for this DLC that no-one who owns an xbox one can appear to play, it hangs constantly.

    Now from Ubisoft, looks like they blame your console:

    As for the DLC, it does work for the majority of people playing it. We have seen reports of Xbox One users encountering this issue and, yes, taking the console offline is a temporary workaround. Currently, it is uncertain what exactly is causing the issue,
    but it seems the console itself is trying to check for some form of update for the DLC when it is being initially launched. That is why it hangs at the initializing screen.

    So no fix promised, just passing the buck. My question is, have I bought a bad machine, should I have gone with PS4? The only reason what swayed me to xbox was I loved my 360 and I have live gold already. I really hope I have not made a mistake. Can you tell
    me what you are doing with this issue with Ubisoft, if anything?

    I have the same issue n xbox one. Although this is a ubisoft issue, MS need to also take some responsibility. They need to ensure that all games/DLC on their machine work, or work with the games companies to thrash out the solution.

    No-one will take ownership of this issue...

    AC4 all the way... even after completing the main missions you still have hours if not days of side missions and task to do. Not to mention Freedom Cry was just release a ton of new mission and story line.

    Initializing downloadable content package...

    I read about an easier way to get it to work and so far it's 100%. Before you load up AC4, disconnect from the internet. Next, start the game and load freedom cry. Once your in game pause it( not sure if you ACTUALLY have to pause, but it's how I do it.
    Finally, reconnect to the internet and go back to your game.
