I ended up deleting the game. Not that it wasn't good.. it just didn't hold my interest. So it was worth checking out and I am glad I did play it, but like I said it's not my cup of tea.

I have this and Unity and I haven't even tried either. I'm not sure which to play first because if I play one I know I'll be burnt out and not play the other. Unity was only €9 so not too fussed if I never play it. I wasn't crazed about the boat sections
in AC3 like everyone else though. Not sure which to play.

It doesn't take a lot of time if you just want to go through the main story. I've spent a fair bit of time playing to complete the last few achievements though. I still haven't filly upgraded the jackdaw. That takes the longest.

I've been playing it on and off for the past week or so but I have to say, I don't like it. I feel AC, AC2 along with AC: Brotherhood were the best in the Series to date. While AC:BF is no where as near bad as AC3, it's still
pretty boring and has some really odd collision mechanics sometimes that makes it frustrating to play.

@ Lost, have you played Unity? How's it stack up to that?

Brand I have played both and would say Black Flag is the better of the two games. Its much more open world, the sea battles have improved immensely since AC3 and the character of Connor Kenway is much better than Arvo (or whatever his name his in Unity)
Plus the AI in Unity is absolutely the dumbest AI ever in the history of videogames, plus even though its patched it still has its share of glitches and bugs. Just my personal opinion having completed both ACBF I would play again Unity I wouldn't.

Azrael008uk, I actually like many Games. It's this Gen that so far is pretty much a let down. It's almost as if all the Developers threw out their brains from last Gen and started all over from scratch this Gen and all of us are
stuck in 2005. Thanks but I've been there, done that.

Brand, I haven't played Unity but Glitches and Reviews aside, I can't imagine it would be any better seeing as how essentially it is more of the same as AC:BF but less being minus any Ship Combat. That alone in AC:BF is entertaining and making it have half
a cup of fun. Take Ship Combat out of Unity and it's a boring AC Game that no one wanted. Cash Cow sails at high-noon...

  9. This was my first (but it WON'T be my last) AC game. I want to try the others, but I will either wait to see if they become free with GWG or borrow a game from a friend.

I have to agree with LostKauz some of the mechanics where so rage worthy. More often then not I failed a mission simply based on the character either climbing a while when he wasn't suppose to or failing to jump of a ledge. Granted most of the issues where
me hitting the wrong button, but it still was annoying especially when you had to keep up with someone you are following and not be seen at the same time.

The good thing is.. if I do feel like giving the game another.. I can always re-download it.

^ the annoying thing about AC games is those problems have been there since the first one and they just seem to ignore them when making new ones...

It's the best pirate game out there, IMO (as well as the best AS game out there too). Which is 1 of the reasons why I'm so excited for Rare's Sea of Thieves - I want to see if it can topple ACBF. :)

In any case, I noticed that it was finally free today, so I went to download it and discovered that I couldn't. Why? Because my brother already owns it. Since we share the same console, the only option it gave me was "play" - which I didn't want to do. I
wanted to own it for myself in case I ever got my own console and put the game onto my external HDD. This made me realize that for some reason that I don't understand, the console seems to think that you own a game simply because you have your profile on said
console, even if you're not the one who bought it. However, I know from experience, that once your profile leaves that console, that that is no longer the case (if you move your profile to a different console that doesn't have the game, you cannot play it
unless another profile that does own the game is also on there). I find this a bit at odds, IMO. If anything, I think it should allow you to play it on the console, but also allow you to purchase it for yourself as well - not just give the play option.

In any case, I found a solution to this problem. If you happen to be in the same predicament as I was, all you need to do is go to xbox.com, sign in using your Xbox Live account, and then download it from there. It's a bit tedious, but it works, so I'm now
(officially) the proud owner of Assassin's Creed Black Flag, which is currently the best Pirate game around, IMO. ;)
