AC: Black Flag Wroth The Hard Drive Space?

It's a great game and definitely worth the download for free on games for gold. I was surprised to see it there actually.

 

This GWG release makes me wanna go pirating again...any landlubbers new to Black Flag need help finding your white whale, LMK, be happy to help..."A pirates life for me!"

Ohhhhh naming a favourite would be hard, I was always most content singing along with my hearty crew skimming the waves of the Caribbean. Good times! I even went out of my way to collect the things to get new ones.. Go on then Stud whats yours!

 

It's the best pirate game out there, IMO (as well as the best AS game out there too). Which is 1 of the reasons why I'm so excited for Rare's Sea of Thieves - I want to see if it can topple ACBF.

In any case, I noticed that it was finally free today, so I went to download it and discovered that I couldn't. Why? Because my brother already owns it. Since we share the same console, the only option it gave me was "play" - which I didn't want to do. I
wanted to own it for myself in case I ever got my own console and put the game onto my external HDD. This made me realize that for some reason that I don't understand, the console seems to think that you own a game simply because you have your profile on said
console, even if you're not the one who bought it. However, I know from experience, that once your profile leaves that console, that that is no longer the case (if you move your profile to a different console that doesn't have the game, you cannot play it
unless another profile that does own the game is also on there). I find this a bit at odds, IMO. If anything, I think it should allow you to play it on the console, but also allow you to purchase it for yourself as well - not just give the play option.

In any case, I found a solution to this problem. If you happen to be in the same predicament as I was, all you need to do is go to xbox.com, sign in using your Xbox Live account, and then download it from there. It's a bit tedious, but it works, so I'm now
(officially) the proud owner of Assassin's Creed Black Flag, which is currently the best Pirate game around, IMO.

 

@Genchy...was opening my sideshow hot toys Batman. Takes bit of homage, any ways I gotta say my fav is the "Drunken Sailor". But your Sally brown is a very close second...lol.

 

My favourite shanty is Lowlands Away. It's about a guy who is visited by his lover in his sleep, but when he wakes on his ship he realises it wasn't a dream, and that she had died back home and her spirit had visited him at sea.

I dreamed a dream the other niiiiight... Loowlands, Loooooooooowlands Away me John...

Second fave is Farewell and Adieu... the true British version. Heh.

I know all the lyrics to the above two and yeah, I sing them sometimes even when I'm not playing. For example a friend of mine was wrong about something, but was rooting for an argument so was gonna steam roll me with words anyway... so I started singing
Loooooooooowlands Away really loud so I couldn't hear her.

The other shanty I like is the one that goes, "Ay oohhhhhhhh come roll me over! One man... to something something... Ay ohhhh come roll me over.... TWO men to something something..." I just did the Ay ohhh come roll me over bit when I played. lol

 

Farewell and Adieu is awesome and always brings Quint to mind from Jaws. I might have to dust this off when I finish the Witcher, Question I own the disc version so can I still download the digi version?

 

Ah...u mean farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies. Yes, the exact song quint sings in Jaws... Just wish there was the "I'm tired and I wanna go home" shanty...

Oh yeah just saw that. Dunno if you can DL it on top of ur disc version. I would guess that u prob have to delete the disc version and install the digital to use it digitally. GL.
