    Abusing the "follow player" feature


    I have been having this issue for almost a years time. The "follow player" feature needs to be optional. I am being harassed by a player who continues to make fake profiles to follow me and try to communicate. I have my entire profile blocked from everyone
    because of it and it is not fair to not be able to experience new players and have a nice gaming experience. I have to take the time every day to report at least 3 new profiles this person makes and the reports do absolutely nothing... It has been almost a
    year of this harassment.

    Is there no way to make the follow feature optional? It should be able to be turned off so unwanted people cannot follow you...

    Also there should be consequences for people who do this behavior. Can his IP address not be suspended or banned from the console?

    I am a high paying customer... i should not have to deal with this consistent burden...

    I have blocked and reported every profile made. But its been 10 months now and exceeding 50-60 profiles, it continues daily and is only getting worse. Police in another country don’t see this as a threat if i report him to authorities. Usa -> England.

    I should not have to even see the profiles in my activity feed or take time out of my day to go though the report process that gets me nowhere and no help anyway. I would think they could track the IP address and ban it. I also should not have to change
    my Gamertag as another user mentioned. I’ve worked hard for my achievements in my gaming communities and i have earned recognition as my GT. He would surely just find my new name anyway and this psychotic cycle would continue.

    the simple solution is to make the Follow Player feature optional ...

    and thats why the support team sent me here, to have it suggested to the development team.

    Hello Auracle,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. There are a few things you can adjust to help. When go to your privacy settings under Xbox live privacy, then view details and customize go to online status and history. The first one is who can see you online select friends.
    Followers are not friends you need to friend a follower then they can see you online. Then in profile select Others can see your Xbox profile details select friends. Other than that you will just need to ignore report than block the profiles they make. You
    can go to
    feedback.xbox.com     and submit an idea for the option to be added. This will redirect you to the reddit thread for ideas.

    Block the offending accounts and report them. If this persists their account can be banned permanently. If this extends into threats you can always contact the police.

    Definitely report the new tags that are following you if you feel they are the same person behind them and they are bothering you. But I do agree that I hope the next gen of consoles goes back to a system like the 360 had where you have to request to be
    friends, and be accepted, before the both of you are friends with each other.
