Absolutely confused here.

I'm just utterly confused as to how to connect to this at all. I've downloaded games and can play them yet it always has me set as offline for the 360 games yet I'm online and talking to my friends in party chat. I felt really stupid when I found out how
to bring up the old menu then download my profile and yippie it signed me into xbox live and I got to play Gears 3 with my friend and now a single day after I thought I fixed it, it doesn't sign me into xbox live again. Repeatedly over and over it just states
that I can't connect and should check my connection which is useless since it's the connection for the xbox one.

I will admit I'm slow to understanding things and may have missed something but as far as I know I've done everything there is to fix this but nothing. It's literally bugging the crap out of me, I just honestly am completely lost. Can someone please out of
kindness run the steps literally step by step for me to see if I missed anything. My connection is good, I've downloaded my profile, I can play the games, so why am I not connecting to online when I clearly already am.

Once you are in the beta you cannot revert your dashboard back to the new one. I don't know how long the beta testing has left to go or if it finished, but when it is over it your xbox should update and remove the beta stuff.

The beta has ended now.Once you have the updated dash there's no way to go back to a previous version.

Since this began have you tried a quick re-download of your profile? Press both the menu and the view button while in the Xbox 360 game and select download profile and enter the information for your current Xbox Live account. This will re-download your account
and hopefully clear up your connection trouble.

I looked into the re-download but it doesn't give me an option. I'm going to remove my account off the entire system then see if it will let me do it then.

 

I now think my system hates me because it works then doesn't then works again. It's like it only works when I play alone without my friends.

 

To clarify, are you selecting the download profile option in the Xbox 360 guide menu?

Yes I've selected it in the 360 guide menu and have downloaded my account through it. How exactly would I go about removing and re downloading as again it doesn't give me the option to do so unless I'm completely blind.

Those are the steps to re-download your profile, thanks for clarifying that! To check, do you have trouble connecting to any other Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One or is it only with Gears of War 3?

 

I know this goes against the mantra of "A wired connection is the best connection when it comes to gaming!", but when it comes to using the 360 emulator, this is not true.

Unplug your ethernet, do a hard reset on your console, (touch the power button for 8-10 seconds, or until the light turns off, and then wait until the light turns orange on the power brick before turning back on), and setup a wireless connection. Then start
your game.

Hope this helps until Microsoft comes up with the fix so the emulator can be ran while on ethernet again.
