    About to lose my mind trying to change a gamertag on Xbox1


    Microsoft is sending me in circles trying to change a gamertag. First of all I think it's stupid to have to pay for this. I'm trying to change a gamertag for my email address and add my daughter to the account. Received the Xbox at Christmas and I set it
    up initially with my email address and her gamertag. Now I'm trying to separate the two accounts and it won't let me change the gamertag. I keep getting this message...

    Does anyone know how to get around this? I've tried a different payment method and tried using a PC, tablet and the xbox too.

    clean MSA.

    Anyone know a better way to get this resolved will likely be my hero!

    I had a Gamertag under my main Microsoft Account (MSA) since Xbox days. I have a new MSA account that I have been using as my primary e-mail and moved everything over to it. I signed in with this into my new Windows 8 computer back in August (before I was
    about to migrate my Gamertag over) and it automatically created a new Gamertag "MarredPuppet1". Nooooooo! But it was too late.

    So I waited 30 days and then created a dummy account per Microsoft instructions of a new MSA (now we are on MSA #3). I moved the Gamertag over and when I sign onto the website with this new MSA it shows the new Gamertag. When I sign on with the MSA I would
    like to use it shows no Gamertag. Ok great.

    Now on the console I sign in with my Gamertag and try to move it to the correct MSA (#2) and it fails saying there is a Gamertag associated. I contacted support and they are confused and now have esclaated this to a specialist who instructed me to create
    a new MSA and to move the Gamertag there (what?). That is his only solution. I move it to MSA #4 he wants me to create and will not provide any additional assistance.

    Per his e-mail:

    "This is Derric again. In order to solve this issue I will need a new MSA with no gamertag attached. I would also like for you to provide the gamertag you are trying to recover. I can't move forward with this issue if I do not have that information.
    Below are the steps again to get this issue resolved."



    The real issue is that the MSA #2 which I moved a Gamertag off of is still showing up in their system as having a Gamertag and that has to be resolved. Is this impossible to fix? Is my solution to just change my e-mail? Ahh ! What do I do?

    Two gamertags on Xbox One

    Try changing your gamertag (you don't have to complete it). If it doesn't show both options, then it may not split it into 2. If you're worried about losing your tag, I wouldn't change it.

    Losing my mind trying to fix my game crashes

    Update:

    Last night I kept crashing in ranked and finally did a full reset on my PC. Wiped the entire drive and only installed the bare minimum that I need to run Apex (steam, apex, logitech g hub, ahk for my keyboard).

    Ran winaerotweaker to remove all of microsoft's garbage.

    Removed Nvidia drivers using DDU and reinstalled directly from Nvidia's website.

    Ran Windows updates.

    Flashed bios with latest update even though I am already on it (which wiped any settings I had messed with).

    Enabled XMP to have 3200 instead of 2666.

    Did not mess with nvidia control panel.

    Removed mouse accel and game mode.

    Changed monitor refresh rate to 144hz.

    Apex was installed and rather than copying my settings file I redid everything from scratch in game.

    Only launch commands are: +CrossPlay_user_optin 0 -novid

    No cfg files.

    I will keep running the game on barebones Windows 11. If it crashes then it's an issue with GPU, CPU, Motherboard, or PSU as those are the only ones I haven't swapped out. If it doesn't then it had to do with a game file.

    If it's game file related I will slowly copy my previous settings until I crash to find the culprit.

    I have a gaming PC at work with Apex installed and so far it doesn't crash at all. I'll copy my game file settings from home and run them at work. Work monitor is 1080p while home is 1440p so it's less demanding which might not make it crash (same GPU diff brand).

    I will update this thread with any new information that I have in hopes of narrowing down the issue and helping someone else in the future that stumbles upon this thread.

    Yes, it wasn't always like this. It only happens with Apex.

    Hello, couple quick question. Were you ever able to play the game without it crashing?? This doesn't happen to any of your other games you play right?? It might just be an issue with the game itself!?
