About the Free Online weekend..

I'd LOVE to have it last forever on Xbox 360 AT LEAST. It's fine if it's that console only, since you're making a vast majority of profit from the Xbox One. I'm still wondering WHY I'm forced to pay $60 a year to play online if I'm on an unsupported console.

Xbox Live Issue HELP!!

There was a free gold weekend this past weekend which would have given you access to play online. It's possible the account wasn't actually given the free trial and you were accessing the free weekend.

No, Xbox LIVE Gold is not free.

But occasionally, there are about 2-3 weekends throughout the year where Microsoft lets Silver members play online for free.

Well in actuality the gold service provided by xbox live is a bridge between both consoles. As a gamer you can still reap the benefits of stashing those Games with Gold titles into your gaming library for when you are ready to move over to Xbox One and now
we have the whole backwards compatibilty program. Hopefully some of your favorite games from the 360 are already part of the program or are in the process of being added. Unfortunately as time moves on more and more servers will be removed from 360 until that
inevitable day when it's no longer online capable but hey enjoy it while it lasts. However I do understand your point but the market dictates that you move on to the newer console whether you want to or not and I gladly welcome you to join the Xbox One Community.

As far as pricing for Xbox Live you are not locked into paying the full retail price $60 for the service. Search around your local or online retailers especially during this time of year and you can find great deals on Xbox Live service from as low as $34.99
(some people have reported seeing the price even lower). Right now cdkeys.com has a great deal for 12 month xbox live gold subscription for $39.99.

Well I hope you end up converting over to the Xbox One family and take care.
