I've never been at bad rep but seeing people getting it, I can't say I'm not worry.

Microsoft should put expiration on these bad rep like 3-days or 1-week depending on how bad level users are currently in. They have penalty that make hardly to find online match for few days or a week and that should change the way they behave to other players
and slowly get back to good users.

To change people behavior from bad to good, avoiding them for a long time isn't right option. Got bad rep ? Receive penalty in a short time then back to normal is a good one here. I believe if a player receive penalty few times, they will change behavior
    for sure.

    :)

Has anyone in this thread actually read about the new reputation system, or are you all just making assumptions?

    [/quote]

The last i heard they were using a traffic light system, red amber and green.

You are supposed to be matched with the people within your colour group.

You supposedly get a good review automatically unless otherwise rated by the people you play against.

    -

I haven`t done a massive amount of research in to it as i have no intention of buying an xbox one,but if there is more info please share.

They're using new algorithms to fix it. They're doing away with all of the "Avoiding" players horsecrap as far as I know.

    .

For instance, if you file a report on a player, the following are taken into account:

    • Did you actually play in a game with that person?
    • Did other people from that same game report that person?
    • Have your reports in the past proven accurate, or have you spammed the system?
    • How accurate have the reports been of the other people who have filed reports on that person in the same game?
There's more than that, but if you analyze enough of those factors, you can immediately get a pretty good feel for if a person has violated the COC/TOU, and then they will go in and manually confirm.

Sadly, history has shown that you are not correct in your thought. People can raise their rep just by playing fair and being sporting in the way they play. If your idea was put in place, they would know that their rep would return to normal in time and that
they could get away with bad behavior. But if you think this is a really good idea, you could post in this section of the forums:

So basically this new system is going to make it difficult for me to earn the bad player rating?

As soon as the cry baby exploiting abusers get their grubby hands on it good players REP will be wrongly reported.

    About the new rep system

"So, how are we doing this? We are simplifying the mechanism for Xbox One –
moving from a survey option to more direct feedback, including
things like “block” or “mute player” actions into the feedback model.
The new model will take all of the feedback from a player’s online flow, put it in the system with a crazy algorithm
we created and validated with an MSR PhD to make sure things are fair for everyone.

    .

Ultimately, your reputation score will determine which category you are assigned – "Green = Good Player," "Yellow = Needs Improvement" or "Red = Avoid Me." Looking at someone’s gamer card you’ll be able to quickly see their reputation. And, your reputation
score is ultimately up to you. The more hours you play online without being a jerk, the better your reputation will be; similar to the more hours you drive without an accident, the better your driving record and insurance
    rates will be.
Most players will have good reputations and be seen as a “Good Player.”
The algorithm is looking to identify players that are repeatedly disruptive on Xbox Live. We’ll identify those players with a lower reputation score and in the worse cases they will earn the “Avoid Me” reputation.
Before a player ends up with the “Avoid Me” reputation level we will have sent many different alerts to the “Needs Improvement” player reminding them how their social gaming conduct is affecting lots of other gamers.

    .

The algorithm is sophisticated and won’t penalize you for a few bad reports.
Even good players might receive a few player feedback reports each month and that is OK.
The algorithm weighs the data collected so if a dozen people suddenly reporting a single user, the system will look at a variety of factors before docking their reputation.

We’ll verify if those people actually played in an online game with the person reported – if not, all of those player’s feedback won’t matter as much as a single person who spent 15 minutes playing with the reported person.
The system also looks at the reputation of the person reporting and the alleged offender, frequency of reports from a single user and a number of other factors.

    .

This system will continue to evolve and get better as we track the feedback we get from players and titles, plus add more consequences for the jerks. It also helps us match you with other gamers like you. Of course, the system will be as good as you make
it, so all you need to do is report the players that are abusive, cheating or causing mayhem and their reputation will reflect that. Thank you for helping us continue to make Xbox Live a place we all love.
Our team and I built this for all of you and we hope you like it!"

I thought there was a video I had seen or an article that went into more depth, but I'm having trouble locating it.

    About the new rep system

Alot of people who legitly play will be unfairly labeled "Avoid Me" mainly because there will obviously be tons of people who will abuse the system. Why Microsoft cannot simply set the options in the rep system to a simple yes I want to play with this person
again or a no is just leaving me speechless again. Complicating everything is just setting up an impending disaster and another tool for trolls.
