    I have a very bad Chivalry 2 experience recently and I want to refund it.

    I bought this game about 2 months ago. I played a lot at first. But since last month ago, this game is not playable at all.

    1st, this game on xbox only has multiplayer function and check authentication when login in, that means without xbox live gold, this is a completely useless software.

    2nd, as a pure multiplayer game, I can't find an online server that has ping smaller than 60. Mostly i got is a 200 ping server, or i am the only one with lower ping. I am currently living in Taiwan region. This situation lasts for 1 month already.

    3rd, game official twitter confirmed customized server browser will be launched on xbox but 3 month later it's still not done yet.

    4th, compared with PC, this game also doesn't even have key customization.

    So i wonder if i am still able to refund. Surely 14 days past, but i bought a completely unplayable & unusable software. I tried refund in main page already, but got an auto rejection.

I'm really sorry to hear about your bad experience, I've had a similar situation in the past with some games. Unfortunately, Xbox is really strict with its policies, being completely honest the times I've tried to refund a game after the 14 days the refund has been denied. But you don't lose anything by trying!

    So you played the game a lot and everything was fine, but now you want a refund, after two months?

    Surely you knew about all of the features of the game before you bought it? like it being multiplayer only, it requiring Xbox Live Gold?

    I think your chances of getting a refund are slim to none, and slim just left the building

    1. It is a Multiplayer only game. The need for Xbox Live Gold is specified on the Store page:

    "Game requires Xbox Live Gold to play on Xbox (subscription sold separately)."

    2. No clue on that one. I wonder whether it is related to their system matchmaking people with incorrect servers which would then result in high ping and lag if, for example, you are in the UK and get matched with a South American server. This is currently something the developers are investigating

    3. Their roadmap indicated it would be, hopefully, in Patch 2 released in July. My understanding is that Patch 2 has been delayed as is quite normal for new games. The roadmap did specifiy that nothing was definite on release times. Their updated roadmap indicates it will, hopefully, be coming this month (still part of Patch 2):

    4. It is normal for Xbox versions of games to have much less than their PC counterpart. PC's have the ability to support much more complex coding etc

    Gathering information together doesn't change the fact that software is dysfunctional completely currently.
    I never said it does, I was merely addressing each of your points.

    As to getting a refund, the only point which would have any possible basis would be point 2; Point 1 is evident when you buy the game so wouldn't be valid; the developer delaying content or providing more content on PC (points 3 and 4) also wouldn't be valid reasons.

    The problem you have is that, as you noted, you played it a lot to begin with so it was clearly playable and thus not appropriate for a refund. The server issue is clearly a problem, hence they are working on it

    The automated rejection would be because you have played it for a good amount of time and been playing it for 2 months...unless you could show that the game literally does not work, then it's a difficult one as, whilst the game does have high pings etc, it does work, even if the experience is bad.

    But that is all just my personal opinion...I don't work for Microsoft nor have any insight into their policies...just simply my thoughts on the matter
