About OG Avatars and Gamer pictures

We understand that you are trying to create, save and check your previous avatar. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner for you to get back to gaming.

There is a way for you to create and update your Xbox avatar and to save it. However, to check previous avatar, if you mean Xbox Original Avatar, you can see that but previously created and unused profile pictures may not be seen.

However, you can save your avatar and maybe create an album or folder of your avatars. To get started in exploring avatars, on your PC, install Xbox Avatar Editor app from Microsoft Store.

To create a new avatar:

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
   
2. Select My games & apps > See all.
   
3. Go to Apps and select the Xbox Avatar Editor app.
   
4. Select an avatar, and then customize it however you like.
   

If you’ve already created an avatar but want to change it:

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
   
2. Select My games & apps > See all.
   
3. Go to Apps and select the Xbox Avatar Editor app.
   
4. Select Settings > Create new avatar.
   
5. Select Continue to confirm.
   

To use a picture of your avatar as your gamerpic, open the Xbox Avatar Editor app, select Photobooth, and strike a pose.

Install Xbox Original Avatars app from Microsoft Store.

Deck out your Xbox Original Avatar, and then import it to take the place of your gamerpic or new avatar. To import your original avatar:

1. Launch the Xbox Avatar Editor app.
   
2. Select Xbox Original Avatar, and then choose your original avatar.
   
3. Select Import.
   

Within a few moments, your Xbox Original Avatar will once again represent you across Xbox.

If you want to use your Xbox Original Avatar as your gamerpic, use the Xbox Original Avatars app. Only new avatars are able to use the Photobooth feature in the Xbox Avatar Editor.

Additionally, after importing, you may use the Paint 3D app in your updated computer to check the 3D version of your gamertag.

There more then few posts on support forums about this. Also gamer pictures and avatars are not updating properly

Currently, the Gamer Picture used by the Xbox Rewards site is actually the Avatar Gamer Picture not your Xbox Gamer Picture.

If you want to change that picture you can do so through the Avatar Menu on your console using the Gamer Picture menu or you can change it on your console using the
Avatar Editor.

From the home tab: profile > edit profile > gamer picture.

If you would prefer an avatar pic: customize avatar > gamer picture.
