about my xbox live

so i have game pass for one month. i wanted to put in my twelve months so i did. does the 12 months extend my live? or did i just waste my money and it shorten my live? i was looking to see when my xbox live expired and didnt say anything. only my game
pass was current on my subscriptions. i did not want no longer game pass. my game pass expired 4/4/2020 after i put my 12 months, it said 8/4/2020. im pissed off right now. like where did my other 8 months go.

So first off Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate are different since that Ultimate bundles gold and gamepass together.

When you say game pass, do you mean game pass ultimate? If so, then by adding live, you have extended game pass ultimate, as per convention rate...

To avoid this you need to let current subscription expire first

But yea, it looks as though you have game pass ultimate, so your 12 months of live converts to 4 months of ultimate.

Note that if you now cancel sub, you will lose that, and cannot get it back

Ambassador here, I would suggest visiting the migration page, assuming you haven't already.
live.xbox.com/.../AccountMigration. Without out knowing exactly where the error is occurring, this is all I can do to help. I hope this works for you.
