Able to install and start game not on Gamepass PC subscription

Hello,

I recently bought Xbox game pass PC. I was able to successfully install Sea of Thieves, but when it wouldn't open, I proceeded to waste four hours of my, your staff and your volunteer's time just to find out that it required ultimate to play.

Nowhere on the Xbox app does it say that I need Ultimate to play this game (I have included a screenshot). Instead I am able to install and press play without any indication of having the wrong subscription; even when the game would pop up in windowed mode and close a few seconds later there was no mention of the wrong subscription. I needed to go to the Microsoft store page to see any mention of having the wrong subscription.

Please fix this; it is misleading, annoying and ill-conceived and has wasted the time of at least three people that could have been better spent.

I understand what you are saying, but it directly contradicts what I was told by this technician. when I told him that the game wouldn't launch, the only answer I was given was it wasn't in my subscription. I'm getting conflicting information from both the Microsoft store and the Xbox app, as well as this technician and yourself, but I am still unable to play the game.

Ultimate is not the issue. I'm not sure what is, but Ultimate is not a requirement. Ultimate is a bundled subscription of Gold, Game Pass for console, and Gane Pass for PC. If you're only using the PC, you only need Game Pass for PC otherwise you have 2 subscriptions you don't need. Sea of Thieves is available on Game Pass for PC and buying Ultimate wouldn't change anything about the game.

The game pass ultimate subscription is divided into 3: xbox / pc / xbox and pc /
The name of gamepass ultimate corresponds to the fact that it has a gold subscription to be able to play online.
You can access the microsoft store from your pc and try to download any game that you want to enjoy the service, if it allows you to download it without the need for another subscription, you have the console and pc gamepass.

Hello WhyChiken,

Since you have Gamepass ultimate, that means you already have access to Xbox live gold, Gamepass for console and Gamepass for PC. To utilize the PC subscription, you just need to be signed into the same Microsoft account that owns the ultimate subscription.
Use the Xbox Beta app to get started.

You need to subscribe to Gamepass Ultimate to be able to access the games on both Xbox and PC.
