A way to update controller firmware

Bluetooth flips between not recognizing the controller at all, and recognizing it but failing to connect. The above method doesn't work.

As I mentioned in the original post, attempting to roll back the firmware gives a popup:

"this controller is already up to date."

Even though I did a firmware update.

I promise you, this is a firmware issue. Something was broken in the latest update for 1914 model controllers. My brother has the exact same controller and bluetooth module and his works perfectly fine because he didn't update his firmware. My controller worked until I updated mine.

If there's some way you can submit a bug report to the firmware dev team, please do so. On Windows I can't find a way to report this problem directly to Microsoft.

Have you tried to delete the "old" controller from your Windows PC in the Bluetooth device section and then rediscover it. The firmware update may present the controller as a new device to Windows - meaning although it is still the same physical device -
it has changed internally based on the new firmware to look like a new controller to Windows.

As far as I know, there is no way to roll back the firmware update on the controller.

Start the accessories app and see if there is a way to reset the controller to default settings. Also check for firmware update.

Thank you for your quick response, but i'm thinking, since it worked before the firmware update, is it possible to reset the controller so it can work again ?

There's no way to roll back a firmware update, unfortunately.

Is there any way to rollback the firmware on the actual controller without a console? I believe the actual firmware on the controller is corrupted, as I tried everything I could in terms of software. The Xbox Accessories app only has an option to update, which there is no update available. Can't get it repaired because even though the controller is pretty new, the warranty expired.
