    A/V receiver to xbox?

    Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone can help me connecting TV to Xbox one I am totally noob about this. I use an A/V receiver that receives channels through a satellite dish, so I wonder if there is a A/V to HDMI converter that I can use so that I plug the receiver directly to the Xbox HDMI-IN and then the Xbox to the TV or I must buy a certain device. also if the TV connecting to Xbox is working worldwide?

    Thanks in advance!

HDMI Splitter with cable box and surround sound receiver

    From Support:

Basic setup with an audio/video receiver

With an audio/video (A/V) receiver, the best and most direct option is to connect the devices sequentially:

1.Connect your set-top box HDMI output to the Xbox One HDMI input.

2.Connect the Xbox One HDMI output to your A/V HDMI input.

3.Connect your A/V HDMI output to the HDMI input on your television.

    Notes

•This option requires that all devices support audio over HDMI.

•Surround sound from your set-top box will not be passed through the Xbox One.

•When you perform this kind of basic setup with an A/V receiver, you’re passing both audio and video through another device. Depending on your equipment, there is a small risk of audio or video lag.

I had a Yamaha receiver do the same thing to me and if I recall (I have a Onkyo now) I just tried one of the other Yamaha codes until it worked. I hope this helps. Good luck!

    Setup with AV Receiver

In addition to being able to control the A/V receiver...I also need the HDMI passthough in the Xbox One to work even when the Xbox One is in standby (i.e. continue to pass through audio/video even when not using Xbox One).

Cable TV stops working after a few seconds when passing though xbox and then A/V receiver.

    Notice the last two bullets:

Controlling A/V receiver volume with XBOX One controller...

After more research, the point is moot because regardless of changing the channels, there is no control of pause, rewind, etc. for the STB, and no A/V receiver menu adjustments (surround type, speaker level, etc.). The ultimate solution is the Logitech Harmony
Home Hub 915-000238 on the website that has a "smile" in the logo. I got it overnight for less than $75 total. I can control EVERYTHING from my smartphone. Yes, EVEN THE XBOX!!! Plus all kinds of other smart devices! This thing is LEGIT! No more having 20
    remotes laying around!
