A step backwards

After playing the new xbox one for several months I'm struggling to see how they're accounting for the price of the console and there is also many small problems

loading times on everything I do especially getting the friends list up it took maximum 3 seconds on the 360 now you have to wait to load and it cannot be done in game, also got rid of recent players and can't work out why.

Playing music is also hassle, why in 2014 have they made it so you can't simply plug a USB in play the xbox read music, instead they try get you to buy their own version of spotify.

Another point why have they taken off sky tv before I could simply type in a code and get sky on my console without the tv box being in the same room why is this no longer an option?

dont get me wrong there are a lot of improvements but some stuff has been so poorly thought out.

back when i bought this game because i wanted it be like what it was in battlefield bad company 2 destruction but what do you call this kind of destruction? to me it seems like Dice said *** it just put it in and not do their job when they're suppose to

To be perfectly honest with this generation of hardware/software Microsoft has had to start from scratch. This includes making Kinect work with every app and includes new versions of everything. That is why all the Xbox 360 Apps are not available on Xbox
One, developers for those apps are still making them work.

Yes Xbox Music is the only current supported music service, however with Windows 8 you can wireless stream any music you want to Xbox One. This also includes the ability to stream videos and youtube.

The new design of having each part of Xbox Live be apps means they can update features very quickly without waiting for a huge annual update. Basically Xbox One has a tablet like structure which means games and apps and run simultaneously and so the blades
menu isn't need because you don't need to "shut down" a game to check achievements or anything, it simply is running in the background until you come back.

 

Recent players should be changed to 'Week ago players'

Yeah recent players works pretty good for me too. Seems they are making things more accessible and easier update by update.

 

The console is not a mess,

Remember Playstation 3's launch? 2 Years late, cell proccessor not really designed for running games, every multi platform game was far superior on the 360 PSN was awful, you had to add everyone for each individual game a £400+ RRP.

Yet once everything was sorted and developers got to grips with the cell it became a great console and eventually out sold the 360.

 

Dont find it a mess at all. Use Kinect voice and everything it dead easy. Its a bit clunky without the voice control but newflash that what is was designed to be used with.

 

recent players doesnt work in every game, no bios, no personal profile, long waits just to get into a overcomplicated friends list, no location info, manual sign in only without gimmick Kinect. It's a joke.

 

In its current state it's definitely not worth paying over the odds for.

Yeah I have to say, had I tested the product first. I would of still committed to purchase. It is worth the price. The updates are frequent enough to let you know that they care about it.
