A special question about Xbox One Play & Charge Kit

Dear community,

I‘ve got a special question about the Xbox One Play & Charge Kit.

Is it possible to charge two controllers at once e.g. by using an USB-Splitter and so connect both controllers to the charging USB port of the Xbox console?

I would recommend that you buy a powered USB Hub (if by "USB Splitter" you actually mean an USB Hub).

If you just get a "passive" USB Hub (i.e. one without it's own power supply, being powered by the console itself), you are pulling too much power from one single USB port to charge the controllers properly.

With the proper power provided by the USB Hub, you can charge multiple controllers without issue. Also, if you don't need the cabled connection for those tiny milliseconds of lag that the wireless connection has compared to the wired connection, you can
simply use an USB power supply with multiple USB plugs (like
this Anker USB power supply for example), and plug that into a power outlet near your couch, so you don't have to run cables to your console.

With that adapter you could charge four controllers at the same time.

Best way to find out is to try it. I don't see why it wouldn't work but if not then that answers your question lol.

Hi,

You should buy a dual charging station. USB ports can only provide a limited amount of power, there won't be enough to charge two controller batteries at once.

Even if they do start charging, it would probably take twice as long.
