As others have already mentioned -- This has nothing to do with achievements. The OP's issue is with the challenges which (as already pointed out) do nothing for your achievement score. This is a total non-issue. If you do the challenge, it gives you
ZERO gamerscore and is merely there as a bragging tool for your friends. If you ignore the challenge it will just go away and you'll be none the wiser.

Sanur1008 I can and do ignore some achievements. Like playing halo on super hard mode. I am gamer, I just game differently than you.

  3. If he had stopped playing this game weeks ago as he had "beat it", how does he even know about the challenges?

^^ They still show up. If I view Smartglass from my iPhone, I can see there are challenges in the game, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, even though I haven't played that game in months.

  7. I don't agree with the OP on this.

In fact, I wish this feature was implemented long ago. Can you imagine playing Oblivion and getting the very standard set of achievements for the 1250 score, then Bethesda offering all kinds of achievements which really open up the game. It would have been
an even better experience for those that played and loved the game, but missed so much because they didn't know what was possible.

For some reason, and especially when it comes to single player achievements/trophies, I don't see why people feel the need to rush. Even if you rent games, you can get the standard 100% on the first time you rent it, then providing servers don't effect the
availability of certain achievements/trophies, you can go back 2 years or more and have a crack at the game all over again.

There have been so many games that I've truly enjoyed completing time and time again, that even though its the game play that's bringing me back, it would have been great if the games could have had a new bunch of achievements/trophies.

Perhaps the Xbox could have even done a colour system type thing. Where by you get a bronze, silver or gold colour around your unlocked achievement on how many times you did it. So lets say you kill 50 enemies of a particular kind, you can then do it again
and next time your achievement turns silver. Not a major idea but could have added replay-ability on a single account rather than creating a new one just to get the 100% again.

And yes I despise online achievements/trophies. But there is also a solution to that. Play the game on an account where you're not fussed about your completion, or just don't buy the game at all if you know your not going to enjoy half of fit.

There is a couple of things people need to know when it comes to achievements/trophies.

1: No one is forcing you to unlock them. They're there for additional fun. Yes you can have a boring list, a list that's too difficult. But no one is forcing you.

2: You don't deserve to have every achievement/trophy. Achieving something is the result of effort put in, be it difficult or tiresome and eventually getting what you aimed for. Crying for easier rewards for your own satisfaction is not a good way to be.
The trophy/achievement system could actually help people change there morals & work ethics if they truly understood what the word achievement means, but to instead people think they're entitled to everything just because they bought into the product.

3: Extra *Pings* & *Bloops* can only be a good thing A Simple Call to Action: Achievement Reform :D.

Imminent, I think you've got the wrong idea. Replay value is great - but the challenges aren't offering "Replay Value" to the game in their current state since they don't really relate to the DLC content that is coming out for these games, at least in my
experience these challenges have absolutely nothing to do with the DLC content that the developers have come out with - hence no reply value is to be had. The objectives aren't even interesting - it makes me sad =/

A friend of mine pointed out a simple solution to the problem. If progress was saved from the moment we started playing the game and put towards these challenges such as "Melee 250 poppers" or "Kill 500 Uruks" then it wouldn't really be a big deal since
I wouldn't be starting from nothing.

Also - what's the need to have a timetable put on these challenges? Why do I have to do it in a week vs. just over time? Like, honestly, who cares? All these challenges are currently doing is saying "Yeah, I still play this game" instead of something cooler
    - more on that a little later.

Telling me that I don't deserve to have every achievement or trophy is kind of, well, it's a wash. There are people out there that will put the effort in - just because I'm not one of them for every game I play doesn't mean that I won't for some others.
I guess I just feel like that part of your post was pretty weak in general. I'm not crying for "easier rewards" - I'm asking for some meaningful challenges if they're going to be there - maybe some quality changes so they don't seem like such a last-minute
effort. Week-to-week I'm sure we all want to be able to allocate our time as we choose - putting a time limit on a mediocre grind-like achievement kind of takes the liberty out of what "free time" is supposed to mean. Get it? Or would you rather direct your
attack at me - "the casual?" Lol.

To Azrael - achievements have nothing to do with my sense of "self-worth" - thanks for that tip.

To a few others that have said that "challenges don't affect your gamerscore" - Thanks for telling me that - had no idea there weren't points attached to them.... I guess I just feel like that makes them even less attractive to do when taking into account
    their nature.

What I mean by that is others have already pointed out -> the point is that they bring longevity to the game, right? Who wants to get on Shadows of Mordor to detonate 50 fires? Like, can't we come up with something cooler than that to challenge people with?
All these are really saying is "Yeah, I still put in 3-4 hours on that game last week" when they could be saying "Yeah, I actually defeated 5 captains within 2 minutes last week. I'm a bad*ss."

I just think they could be better, and probably should be better. They could be objectives that actually are interesting rather than the "go pick up 50 sticks" kind of stuff that you do plenty of when playing through the game the first time.

  9. If none of the challenges are challenging enough for you, don`t do them.

You stopped playing the game weeks ago, just leave it that way.

Trust me, no one cares how long it took you to kill 2 captains or detonate 50 fires.

Put your efforts into a new game that has actual achievements and new challenges.

You are looking for a solution to a problem that doesn`t exist.

Clearly the problem exists if the solution is to stop playing the game. Get real, kid.

  11. Firstly i am not a kid.

You stated you stopped playing the games weeks ago as you had "beat it"

You seem annoyed that you believe you are being forced to start playing it again just to complete pointless challenges.

I didn`t tell you to stop playing the game, said don`t play if you don`t feel challenged.

There is no problem other than the one you have made up.

This whole thread is about achievements being added and you feeling compelled to complete them, when in fact from my understanding no achievements have been added, just challenges.

Your whole argument makes no sense whatsoever.

Stop making this about "me" and make it about what my previous post was about. Half the crap you say is insulting and not constructive. Actually, more than half, nearly all of it.

There is nothing insulting about my post, i certainly didn`t imply you were a dumb kid, did I???

This entire thread is about your "problem", of course the responses should be about you.

YOU do not want to go back and play a game that you already beat, the solution is DON`T.

The game you have beat has nothing left to offer you, the achievements are done and the challenges do not interest you or are not challenging enough.

The only logical solution is go play something else, very simple.
