A serious flaw built into Netflix and other apps that seems to have been overlooked

So, with the current "outage" that is going on for all Xbox 360 users, the website has touted that many apps and services still "work".

The problem is that they ALL require you to be logged into Xbox Live, most notably, Netflix.

Despite the site saying that "Netflix is currently up and running.", it can't be used without being logged in to Xbox Live, meaning that message is pointless.

My Xbox known that the internet is working and will even connect as long as no account is logged in (show current games, updates and sales)

but will not allow access to Netflix.

So, how exactly is it "currently up and running"?

(Surface RT 8.1) Xbox Games-Actual Games (like halo or solitaire) wont let me sign in

I am logged into my MSA and I am able to download other apps like Facebook and Netflix without a problem.

Netflix App will not load

Hey all,

So I can log into netflix on my computer, iPad, iphone..etc

This morning I was able to log into Netflix from Xbox One, but now I cannot, It simply says "There was an error signing into Netflix, please try again later or go to netflix.com/questions"

All other devices have been signed out of Netflix, internet connection is a okay as all other Apps work fine (watching TED Talks now), have uninstalled and installed the Netflix App, rebooted Xbox, but still no go

I loaded my gf's profile onto the xbox one and then was able to sign into Netflix, but then when I switched out of the app and back into it, I got the same error!

I see where you're going with that. Bear in mind that the app statuses merely state that there are no known issues with that app specifically. With all due respect, it says it's up and running...it does not say that you can access it successfully

I unplugged and restarted with no issues. Seems the problems have been fixed with some delays to the Netflix app.

No, they don't. You couldn't run in CoD2 but you can in BO2. To me that is a serious flaw that has been fixed. The only flaw in both, and every version of CoD, is the ever present but never persistent lag.

If you can think of others, then feel free to list them one by one in detail.

Trust me when I tell you that my xbox has plenty of bandwidth for 4k streaming. Netflix will not stream 4k in the app unless the movie is actually marked for 4K. The app only displays HD as the option, not 4K like it does on any other device that I have
that supports 4k streaming. I do notice the difference when streaming Breaking Bad (which is a 4k serious on Netflix) on my xbox one via Netflix vs streaming it from the Netflix app on my smart 4k tv. The 4k TV smart app shows the correct 4k option on the
show and the picture quality is wayyy better then on the xbox Netflix app.
