    A recently purchased disc will not play.


    I recently purchased a used disc of the Game of the Year edition of Morrowind for the original XBox from Amazon. From what I had been able to find, the disc should be compatible with the XBox 360 due to an update. However, when I inserted the disc, I was
    shown a message stating that the game couldn't start and asking me to download the game again, and promptly returned to the main menu.

    The disc appears to be in good condition, which leads me to believe that the console has not downloaded the required update. I would be interested to know if this is indeed the case, or whether the disc is incompatible with the XBox 360, or if it is, how
    I would be able to download the required update.

    A recently purchased disc will not play.

    Hi, for an original Xbox game to work on a Xbox 360, the console needs an official Xbox 360 hard drive installed in it. If you do not have an official hard drive installed, then the game will not play & come up with that error message.

    StuartATrueRed I have sort of this problem, I downloaded Morrowind on my Xbox360 it didn't work and I have a hard drive, it said download again I also had this problem for KOTR, please help.

    Hi, for an original Xbox game to work on a Xbox 360, the console needs an official Xbox 360 hard drive installed in it. If you do not have an official hard drive installed, then the game will not play & come up with that error message.

    Sorry, but it's not an issue with the disc (I've completed the game already), it's to do with the recent patch. There are no problems playing other games.. Some people have also had issues with their recent GoD purchases of Sonic Generations (presumably
    after accepting the most recent update).

    If you see error code 0x87e10024 when inserting a backwards compatible disc into your Xbox Series X or Xbox One console:

    0x87e10024

    This means that your game disc is compatible, but is having trouble being verified for play. It could also mean that you're experiencing an Xbox service outage, the disc isn't compatible with your console, or there's an issue with the disc.
