A Question about Connecting External HDD's.

I am not sure if this goes here or not (if it doesn't you have my sincere apologies). Anyways, here is my situation: I'm running out of room on my 250GB HDD on my Xbox 360, so I'm connecting my 1TB external HDD to it to act as storage instead and yet, when
I go to the Storage area on the Xbox 360 it is showing that I only have 15GB available on my external HDD when I know I haven't even used 10GB on it.

Is there a reason for this, and is there a way around this?

    :)

    Very strange external HDD Problem

    Hi everyone

I have a problem that's only just started on an external HDD... I have an external 5TB drive that is used to store MKV files I have made from my dvd collection. Basically i made the MKV's with makemkv saved to my laptop then transferred to the external HDD. These are then played via connecting the external HDD to the xbox one

Everything has been working fine (some 400 films), then I decided to save the output from makemkv directly to the external HDD connected to the laptop (rather than copy them over from the laptop). I did this for about 20 films, but now none of the new films will play in either media player or VLC on the xbox (all other films prior to this work fine). Ive even tried making an mkv file the way i did it previously and copy the film to the external hdd but these don play either. If the drive is connected to the laptop all films play fine. Its also worth noting that the films that dont play in media player on the xbox one also dont show a thumbnail tile (just the play symbol)

This is driving me nuts. Any help appreciated

  3. Full external HDD support needed for the 360

Maybe we'll get a future update that'll let us US external HDD's that are big in size. External HDD's are crazy cheap these days too and I could easily fill all of my games on a 1TB HDD. I'll probably get 2TB just to be safe.

  4. A Question about Connecting External HDD's.

Any hard drives hooked up via USB will only allow the max of 32gb of storage. You can use up to 2 USB storage devices for a total of 64gb extra storage. There is no support for external hard drives like yours.
