    Hello,

My name is Billy, also known by on X-Box Live. I've been a loyal customer and fan for going on 12 years of tenure-ship. I'm writing this post today to vent my frustration I've been having with my X-Box One console. My entire time with Microsoft
and it's X-Box brand all wasn't bad. I've owned the Original X-Box with the OG Duke controller, had a handful of games for the console, Halo CE, Halo 2, Doom 3, KOTOR, KOTOR 2, and Ninja Gaiden Black to name a few. I went out and purchased a X-Box 360 at launch
and amassed quite a collection of games throughout the console's life cycle, 600+ games.

I've had the pleasure of growing up with the brand, and loved every moment I had with those consoles.

And then, there's the X-Box One...

Since November 22nd, 2013, I purchased my X-Box One console at my local gamestop with a handful of launch titles, COD Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Ryse: Son of Rome, Killer Instinct, and Dead Rising 3.

I've enjoyed most of my time with the console, but I have a few issues that are starting to become really annoying.

First, the install times for games are a joke. Why is my X-Box One slower at installing my games versus my PS3?

Second, why is it every time I turn on my system, either the controller won't sync up to my console or my 4TB seagate HDD won't sync properly? And more maddening is that I have to RESTART the console all the way through about 2-3 times before it works like
it's supposed to the FIRST time I boot the damn console up?

Third, why is it that your competitors, Steam, PSN, have better sales than you guys? You guys have been pretty good lately around black friday, and overall the GWG to me, have better offerings than PSN.

I may sound like I'm net-picking, but when I've sunk in not just hundreds, but damn near thousands of dollars on the brand and merchandise, I expect what I pay for to FUNCTION.

A lot of my friends have switched over to your competitors, and to be honest I like to own all consoles for exclusive games, but I see why they have switched over.

I really planned on getting a Scorpio next year, but with all the problems I'm STILL having with my current model, I'm not sure Microsoft. I may wait a few years, which sucks because I've invested a lot into my X-Box and into your brand to switch solely
to another console, that works. Another console that focuses what matters the most, to me anyway.

    And that's gaming.

You guys have a lot of catching up to do. But I don't know if I can have faith in you guys anymore.

    Sincerely,

    A disappointed fan.

    :)

Hello xxBASICxxSLAYS (aka basically Billy): I wanted to quote you but since I'm the first to reply, it doesn't appear to be giving me that option. Guess I'll just punch out a (basic) reply then!

"I may sound like I'm [correction: nit-picking], but when I've sunk in not just hundreds but damn near thousands of dollars on the brand and merchandise, I expect what I pay for to FUNCTION."

Don't talk to me about non-refundable cash reserves that can disappear in an instant. You mentioned the PS3, and I too own a legacy console that is pretty much just a default Blu-ray player now. But there was a time not so long ago - from 2008 until 2014
    - when I spent THOUSANDS of non-refundable dollars on PlayStation's social app, PlayStation Home. To borrow a pun, it was my "home away from home" where naturally my first port of call was Xbox (or my own abode, obv.) But where is that app now? Terminated.
And where are those thousands of shiny trinkets and other vanity items that made my virtual self feel better? In one of Sony's non-refundable cash reserves, I'd wager.

No matter which platform you choose, the plain facts of a modern ecosystem mean that money *will* be spent. It's the price you pay to get on board. However, now that you're happily (or unhappily) on board, why isn't YOUR platform performing to expectation?
I don't know, because MINE is. I don't have an issue with installation on my Xbox One S (unless it's a digital title and my ISP isn't playing nicely), but pretty much every disc is up and running in short order. Heck, most of the time you can start playing
while the rest of the game installs!

My controller always syncs upon start up, and I have more than enough breathing room on my new 2TB hard drive - so I really can't speak to why you're having an issue with your 4TB expansion. Ditto for why your Xbox One is underperforming. If it's an original
or Day 1 console, perhaps its components are wearing down or there's some other unidentifiable issue at fault (is your console well-ventilated?). Finally, as regards the sale offerings from Microsoft: you've just admitted you prefer Games w/Gold over the others,
so I really don't see what you're complaining about. I too spend THOUSANDS on my Xbox collection, albeit mostly retail or collector's editions, but nevertheless it's nice to know that as a longstanding Xbox Gold member, I am also given regular discounts in
the Microsoft store. It's an incentive, at least, even if I do turn the other cheek.

Well Billy, there's your basic reply. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but there's time enough for others to add their opinions. Have a safe and happy holiday! :)

    mmm

I just spent a couple of hundred pounds on xbox one s to upgrade from a 360 and am very disappointed with the one s. Microsoft finally pull their finger out to build in the power brick and tuck the batteries away but that is really about it. Yes we can
all admit to the more powerful graphics but the network download and each game needing to be installed rather than playing from disc or with minimum install is madness. Let alone the 21GB update out of the box. It has wasted so much of my time I am truly
infuriated. There should be a warning label to say that owing to the immense power of the system and enhanced graphics that this machine is capable of it will waste the best part of what time you have available in disc and network install so PLEASE do not
expect to play the game sooner than an hour or more after you have inserted the disc (oh and this system will not work without an internet connection as every game needs an update straight away and has to be signed in

What happened to Billy Basic's reply? o_O It's telling me his was the last post "1 day ago", but yet it hasn't updated (or has otherwise been deleted). Seems we *do* have some moderation in place! Scary thought >_<

Sorry to hear that. I play mine just about every night and I don't think I've ever had an issue like you are having.

Do you have the latest controller update? You need to go to settings and then accessories and it'll show you whether or not you need a quick update on your controller.
