A new type of disc reading error

Hello,

Over the past few weeks I have encountered a new type of error that doesn't allow me to load up and play games. When ever I turn my Xbox on, the green light starts flashing like the Xbox tray is opening. This green flashing light stops when I open the tray.
Anyways, that's not the main problem. When ever I put a disc in the tray and close the tray where other known errors such as 'Open Tray' or 'Unrecognized disc' it just says 'Opening' and no matter how many times I open and close the tray, turn my Xbox off
and on, unplug my Xbox from the wall it does not solve this. Also whenever I play any downloaded games such as Minecraft, at any random moment I will get dash boarded and my Xbox will say 'Opening'. Spoke to an Xbox ambassador he couldn't find a solution,
just wanted to know if anyone else has had this error before and if they solved it before I send it off.

Disc reading error-New games

Hey DragonLord,

Sorry to hear your friend has trouble reading game-discs.

Like you sad, he has already done the troubleshooting steps provided on the support page.

Well, actually, there are quit much of these articles, so I assume your friend tried the "Disc Unreadable Support Page".

If you haven't tried it, I do refer you to the basic solution provided in
this support article.

If that didn't helped your friend out, you may want to test some games on another console.

So, discs that your friend's Xbox Console is not recognizing as a game, but will encounter an error like Disc Unreadable or CD/DVD.

Tests some of these games on another console and let us know the results.

By the way, what kind of Console does your friend own and how old is that Console. After 3 á 4 years, the Xbox Console may have some issues.

It can be repaired, but only by Microsoft.

Hi, try giving the eject button a wipe over with a soft clean cloth, sometimes dirty fingerprints etc can build up and cause the tray to eject randomly.

damn dude that sucks n i thought the new update was for the xbox's to read the new disc types

Could be your system, game or combo. Not sure if their policies changed since 2011 but if possible, depending on where you live, Wal-Mart or Target will exchange the game for another copy, with or without a receipt. Make sure you bring an ID as they only
allow for a few exchanges like this a year.

This would be the cheapest solution assuming you could not borrow the game from a friend to see if that copy does the same thing.
