A new "Expansion Pass" That completely stabs Ultimate Edition buyers in the back!

For anyone who doesn't know, there's now something called an "Expansion Pass"

This pass will provide a discount to 2 upcoming expansions to be released later this year.

The Pass is NOT included in the Ultimate Edition (something that is supposed to include everything)

The Ultimate Edition was supposed to include everything, and now they've revealed they'll be another "Pass" for $35 (£20ish)

However, us Ultimate Edition owners will gets a massive $10 (£5) off. if you ask me that's not a saving.

So now there's the following:

All Stars Car Pass

VIP Pass

Car Pass

'And Now' an Expansion Pass

This is a complete stab in the back for any Deluxe, or Ultimate Edition buyer like myself, I thought only Activision, and Ubisoft were bad enough to do something like this but it seems Turn 10 and Micr$oft have jumped on that very small train.

Standard Edition buyers = Full Price

Deluxe Edition buyers = Discounted Price

Ultimate Edition buyers = Free

Yoshinori Ono has said that SF x Tekken will follow the SSFIV: AE formula. Any updates or expansions will be available as DLC, and possibly a new retail release coupled with the new updates and expansions (i.e. Arcade Edition).

yes but i paid $88 for the ultimate version and it should have inluded all the released content now i have to pay $22 more for the expansion thats why im mad they released the Complete edition for $20 cheaper that includes all released content.

So now it seems that the Ultimate Edition of Forza Horizon 3 that I purchased for US$100 is now only a Penultimate Edition.

Why did I bother?

 

WHAT?!?! This was why I purchased the Ultimate Edition!!! I thought it included EVERYTHING! Ridiculous. Well, lesson learned. I won't be buying another Ultimate Edition from the Forza series again because it obviously isn't "Ultimate" anymore.... Just gotta
nickel and dime the consumer eh??? Not to mention the Add-on content is having an issue redeeming/showing up for download...

Way to go Microsoft/Turn 10/Playground Games...

I am annoyed with this as well. I buy the Ultimate Edition for two reasons. The early access and because it touts everything for one price. The bait and switch really isn't sparking confidence in me buying these games anymore. I am going to hold off
on buying Gears 4 Ultimate to see if they pull this crap with that game as well. If they do, I won't purchase the game at all!

 

I see no problem with this expansion pass. Ultimate Edition owners knew exactly what they were paying for. The other forza games have expansions that never were part of the ultimate edition either.

 

Nothing new guys. FH2 has Storm Island & the Porsche expansions. Motorsport 6 has the NASCAR and Porsche expansions, and both have additional car packs made after the car pass (42 cars throughout 6 months)

So I kinda expected expansions & totally welcome them. Really I feel like my $100 Ultimate Edition has already paid for itself

 

Forza always had DLC that wasn't included in the big package at launch.. "Ultimate" doesn't mean everything included. We paid for

That's what we got. With the 2 expansions, it would have been 20-30$ more. In the end, it's still the same with the discount that we have until christmas

 

Exactly, it was shown what came with the Ultimate Edition, everything was listed so dont act like you have been ripped off because you have not.... just like in Horizon 2 were Storm Island and Porsche was the extra DLC that was not included with the Ultimate
Edition....

 

I was a little bummed about that at first as well. I mean, we were the early adopters and put up the most upfront. However, everything promised has been given so far, so it isn't like they were trying to pull a fast one on us. Plus, the core game is absolutely
massive. This map is unbelievable! I work 60 hours a week so I haven't been able to play as much as I would like but I can say that I feel like I got my moneys worth. I got to play early and I don't have to worry about buying car packs for a while. When compared
to FH2 (I bought the standard edition and everything else, piece by piece), I'm still saving a substantial amount. I did get some of the DLC for FH2 at a discounted price through sales but I would say I have spent about $200 on FH2, give or take. When you
think about how much larger the map for FH3 is and add the 2 expansions, $125 is still a great price when compared to how much it will cost for someone to piece everything together
