A new appreciation

So I recently fired up my Xbox 360 for some gaming for the first time since November 22nd, and I cannot help but notice certain things that given me a new perspective on Xbox 360 and Xbox One that I though I'd share with you.

First off the controller. Does it feel weird to go back to the Xbox 360 gamepad? A little. The Triggers are more resistant, the guide button is more prominent and defined, and the analogue sticks are bigger. Other than that, they feel the same. First rate
controllers.

So I booted up Judgment for the first time since it's launch because I felt compelled to give it another go. I was prompted to download a tonne of DLC. Did I buy a Season Pass? Couldn't remember so I pressed guide hoping to go and check my storage. Whoops,
can't do that without leaving the game. I always liked the seamless switching from game to 'Home' on Xbox One, but now I think it's gotta be one of the best features.

Tonight I fired up one of my all time favourites, Sniper Elite v2. I jumped in on Elite difficulty and started trying to scope-less kill enemies. I got a head shot from hundreds of metres away on a sprinter who was so distant I could barely see his silhouette.
"Holy crap! Xbox, Record that!... Oh...right".

There are many of these little things that up until now I've merely enjoyed, but now I think I'm fully appreciative of how they influence my experience. Cheer Microsoft, it's a gem.

Everything seems crisper via my X1.....

 

i feel you there, i personally cannot buy another console if it does not turn on when i tell it to

 

@SMG...... I've been without my Kinect for 2 weeks now..... no turns on that front.... but I'm ok with that because I never used it.

 

I don't use the sleep mode start up either.

 

Yeah, I talk to my kitchen TV and it never turns on. It's my own darn fault, the features of the One are inquisitive. My living-room and bedroom are years ahead of the kitchen.

 

You really notice the difference in the graphics when you go back.

The ONE is really spoiling us.

 

I like both but there are certain things about the 360 that I miss, & I'm not referring to the usual stuff we've heard about time & again...

On the Xbox One, whenever a contextual item comes up, like a message or an achievement, I have to hold down the guide button. On the Xbox 360, all I had to do was press it. Why do I have to hold it down on the Xbox One? What was wrong with simply pressing
it on the Xbox 360? Half the time on the Xbox One when I hold it down it asks me if I want to turn off the console or the controller (hint: I don't). It's a minor thing sure, but it still irritates me.

Also, despite the improved voice commands on the Xbox One, I think the simplicity of the commands on the Xbox 360 worked better & were more consistent. Granted, there were less of them. I just hate how the commands on the Xbox One are seemingly inconsistent.
Why have go to & show that only work for certain things? Why not have just 1 of them or even both for everything? For example, I can
show guide but I can't
go to guide, but I can go to just about anything else.

 

But pressing guide takes you home, so its mapped that way.

 

I know, but I think if there's a notification on-screen, it should take you to that instead.
