A Must Read Thread

Hey guys,

I know a lot of the lurkers who still come here remember a time when the Aussie section was beaming with users discussing all sorts of Xbox related goodness. Well in some of the other sections we've had a discussion on the lacking community effort from the
powers that be on their official website and thought this was a small part of the demise of a once great community.

Thus an MVP (Deacon) has made a thread and invited a lot of interesting people to post in it and it has been very successful. I just wanted to drop the link here in-case some old Aussies forumers see and maybe want to be part of the community again.

So guess what GENTS! I bought my X1 back in December...well beginning of march I sent off my Xbox1 due to the disc failure read...and got a new one sent to me VIA advanced exchange. When I got the new one....I immediately thought to myself...I better purchase
the extended plan....so I bought it and it showed that my console was covered until April 2017. It showed the coverage on under my managing devices. All this took place on the 7th...I bought the extended plan March 8th...well today I looked on my account and
it shows my xbox coverage is due to expire Dec 24th....of this year. So, I called and spoke to them for 1 hour. They have absolutely no showing of me buying the extended plan. I provided the transaction number, the exact amount, the date purchased, and etc....even
that it read "Microsoft.com equipment" ...anyways they still have no record of me buying it...so they upgraded the call to the escalation team...and they are to get back with me VIA email in 1-2 weeks..on the outcome...Who guesses that I end up getting ***
out of this deal? It clearly shows on my bank account record the debit, but they are having such an issue with locating it? So, I had a defective console, and bought the extended plan...and have/had issues with both....Makes you reconsider Microsoft a little?
It actually infuriates me that this happens...with dropping the amount of money we do into these consoles...and then have to buy the extended plan to cover our tales....

Not sure what exactly this has to do with managing your account on xbox one, but if the outcome isnt satisfactory you should dispute the charge with your bank.

 

So no one from the Aussie section cares about making this place somewhere that people want to visit? Or becoming part of the community again? Haha awwweee =(

 

Yeah some of us do but its been that long now that most dont check this site all that often these days as the same posts are there for months so you need to give them time to see it and others have simply moved on. I was "Gjeffro" on the old active site.

I will check it out.

 

Haha, I was just having a little fun with that comment to provoke some people, but I was certain a few more people at least came to have a look and just didn't post.

I guess it's just the sad reality that this section is way more of a wasteland then I thought.

 

Doesn't seem to be a great deal of Aussies playing Xbox anymore. I've been playing Xbox for 6 years on and off but spent a lot of time playing PC and there is a lot of Aussies playing PC and PlayStation these days.

 

Yeah, I've found that for a long, long time now.

Any gamers I've met irl always play PS, not once have I met another gamer and added them to my Xbox friends list.

I have been thinking recently about getting into PC and PS to try it out. I wouldn't drop the Xbox though.

 

I have always rolled with a gaming PC and my Xbox I don't really see a need to get a PS as I can usually get all the games they have on Xbox anyway but might end up getting a PS4 still. I dunno. PC gaming is pretty fun but the community isn't as good as
Xbox. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want DigitalAssassin

I will take you up on that, just as soon as I turn on that Xbox One, haha. I really hate adding friends on that thing, such a pain in the bum. Also catching up on some 360 titles at the moment!

Holy crap. A "must read" thread that's actually worth reading. Who would have thunk it?

 

Hahaha, I didn't even realise that most of the time when a thread is titled that, it's the exact opposite.

and if all this thread did was inform you of that other thread Zen, then I'll call this a success! Haha.

 

Think I recognize more GT's from this thread than that other one..

And would agree with the comments above about the reduction in people playing these days.

 

I'm back and here to try and revive this section. Xbox forums needs it.
