A Letter to Microsoft Corporation regarding Digital copies of games

Disappointed. As a long time costumer of Microsoft I am insulted, I have a Windows Phone Two Xbox's and two Windows computer. My family and i frequently buy and rent content online. I was Disappointed to discover that if i had bought a digital copy of a game
and wanted to play it offline I am unable too. I spoke to one of your Representative on the phone and they said there is nothing they can do about it. I did a licence transfer and not all my content works online. they even said it was stupid that you need
a GOLD membership to stream Netflix and go on YouTube should be able to without gold because us consumers payed enough for the console and we cant use Xbox live with the same Gamer tag for GAMES on another console when someone is using another for Netflix,
this is RIDICULOUS and UNEXCEPTIONABLE. I for one will A. no longer buy digital copies of Xbox games. B. Most likely will NOT purchase an Xbox One. C. Encourage my friends and Family to not use your Xbox Video witch we use on a daily basis.

IF you can not help me to understand why this is then perhaps it is time to take legal action.

    -thanks again

    :)

You should probably call again and request a new license transfer as that's not supposed to happen, you should be able to play them on any account on the console you transferred to. They will likely need to escalate to get a new transfer done.

I encourage you to seek legal action, the lawyer laughing you out of their office after reading the Terms of Service will probably be good for you.

  5. After you did the license transfer, did you re-download the content? You need to download the content again so that it will actually update the license. If the content is already on your hard drive then it will only need to download the license and will
go very quickly. This is what usually causes the issue you are having.

It's not at all the case that digital copies have to be online to be played.

On the console they were first downloaded to (or later the one to which you did a licence transfer), the content will be playable offline - by any profile.

It is only when you are on another console that the purchasing account has to be online when playing the content, to verify ownership.

If you have done a licence transfer, the issue is most likely what HomegrownSilky has suggested and you should follow his suggested remedy. Hopefully that will work for you.

Let us know how you get on.

It appears you folks know more about xbox live then the reps on the phone. if they would have simply told me to redowload it that would have been great.
