A gift code from my friend

My friend bought me the dlc for destiny 2. Xbox live sent the gift and i go to redeem it and nothing happens. It loads the code then just stops and takes me back to the xbox store screen. What do i do?

I Would Reset Your Xbox Before You Put In The Code..

Hold Down The Power Button Until Your Xbox Light Turns Off Then Wait A Few Minutes An Try Again

Also Check To Make Sure Your Putting The Right Code In

Unfortunately this did not solve the issue. I just hope that my friend gets his money back from xbox or that i get a different code for it to work.

If the code doesn't work on the console, give it a try online.

Punch it in online following the steps here
https://support.xbox.com/billing/prepaid-codes/redeem-prepaid-codes

If it does go through there, then try to redownload your account (remove it and add it back to your console) following these steps:

https://support.xbox.com/my-account/manage-gamertag-and-profile/add-remove-account-xbox-one

Lastly, if like, you can't get it to work at all, and your friend has not contacted Xbox Support yet, then he can and they can discuss what kind of options he has dealing with that purchase.
