A fix for to get your NAT opened.

I've found this out from a post from the xboxone subreddit.

If you are having NAT problems, Go to Settings> network>Test multiplayer connection and after it's done testing it press all of the back buttons at the same time ( bumpers and triggers) and you will see a detailed network stats, After you see the network
stats press "B" and your NAT should now be opened.

This worked for me. I have two xbox ones and that's what i did to get both an open NAT, and it seems to be a permanent fix.

First thing i do when i get removed from game world. Its always open.

 

On Virgin, have a Super Hub 2? & having trouble joining lobbies in Forza/Fifa etc….Read on!!!

Could you not try using the sh2 in router mode and assigning fixed ips for your One and 360s and port forward them along with the relevant ports? I'm sure that should work to give you an open NAT. However im no expert!

 

To my knowledge, you can only open your NAT from your network or PC, not from the Xbox One. I'd like somebody on an official level to confirm this before anyone risks trying it.

 

Yea i know, But I've done this a few times on both of my xbox ones and i have no clue on why it works but it does.

 

I have been using this same technique as the op and I can confirm it works. No need to be messing with your router etc.

 

It is an interesting find with the bumpers and triggers. Using that method does give "detailed" NAT information, which is the only difference from actually clicking "Detailed Network Information" from the Troubleshooting menu.

It works but it's not permanent as I have to do it every few days. After the test do not hit "A" to continue. Hold the buttons in then for about a minute.

 

Luckily I've never had any NAT issues on the consoles in the house, but I had to give this button sequence a go.

 

I was having Nat issues a little while ago on my xb1 that is connected to the router via Ethernet cable. Lan port forwarding worked but would go back to strict when my xbox turned off. Ever since i did this i don't have NAT problems no more.

 

Okay, so if this is confirmed, my next question is why does this work? Also, if I wanted to see my detailed network statistics, why not just click that?

 

Who knows GG, but the button sequence does add detail to ones' NAT type. In my case, a "Cone NAT."

 

I tried it and all I got was a "---" on NAT type... In any case, my NAT was already open, so I don't really need this...

 

The "..." will eventually populate a NAT type if you let it sit there for a few minutes.

 

Ah, I see... Mine's apparently behind a cone NAT too. That leads me to my next question - what are the various types and what do they mean?
