a few questions about xbox one before i buy it

@ Vaynel to each their own (respectfully). I hardly ever have to repeat myself. Even with my surround sound thumping in Ryse Son of Rome amidst the epic chaos. I say "Fire Arrows" and Kinect listens and responds. It does have its moments, but the positive
heavily outweigh the few times i do have to repeat myself.

This is a step towards your "Enterprise" Vaynel.

So if you own a platform your opinion should be respected and it matters, if you don't own a platform you should keep your mouth shut and not comment about it?

I said it to one particular poster it wasn't a general statement Vaynel so stop trying to make it into something it isn't.

I'm the same Goat Kinect does what I ask it 99% of the time. It even does what a few of my visitors ask it to do as well.

 

Randver having an opinion is fine constantly regurgitating negative informations that is not even first hand and not listening to first hand users rebuttals isn't in my opinion. A few posters here bang on about the One like two years of improvements haven't
happened. It's old and stale.

So you can't compare one console with another, nor can you point out within a thread what you dislike about the X1? Go figure!

That tells me a lot about this 'community' and helps to explain why this community is shrinking in number. Until today I never understood why it wasn't as bis as it was between 2002-2013 Now I do!

For the record. I'll say what I mean, and mean what I say at any/and all times regardless of how much flack I recieve back from this, or any other online community.

There is a flipside to that.....many people here will tell people (me) that issues we do have first hand experience with aren't a problem and then label us as trolls, fanboys or whatever.

When I make negative comments about the Kinect not recognizing voice commands or the UI being slow and sluggish I get met with "it works for me" and get bashed for making the statement. I find that just as annoying because I'm either being called a liar
or it's the Xbox cheerleading squad coming in to defend their precious platform.

It's not a matter of people having experience with the platform it's about what you say. If you fall in line with the opinions of the forum regulars here your opinion matters and if you don't......then you're me.

 

@ Electro. (respecfully) according to the forum rules you can not compare consoles here. But it is free reign to trash the console brand on the own consoles website? I find that strange.

It is fine to have an opinion. How much that opinion is weighted is depends on the persons experience with any subject matter.

I don't think the "community shrinkage" has anything tondo with discussion. I think it has more to do with sheep being herded by false information.

This is not a joke, or an exaggeration. Just the other day i was at a large department store. I overheard a guy discussing Xbox One. Saying how stupid it is that Xbox doesn't allow you to play used games. There is still a large amount of ignorance regarding
Xbox One.

Remember, Xbox 360 was "under powered". Remember Xbox 360 "doesn't focus" on games. Remember S*ny said "we want PS3 to be the center piece of your living room", Remember 7th Gen consoles were still "lower end" PC's.

Nothing has changed. 8Th Gen is no different

 

Maybe try interspersing the negative with a bit of positive Randver, no one is saying it's all sunshine and roses (well in my experience it pretty much is, lol). But it's not all crud either. At least your negativity comes from a users experience. And
I get it's frustrating but if the majority don't experience the stuff you do it's difficult to respond with anything other than "mine works fine". If that's the users experience. There does seem to be a polarisation of user experiences.

 

The thing is what if a person's experiences are overwhelmingly negative, should they not share those experiences because they struggle to come up with something positive to say as well.

I know it can be a pain when someone is being negative toward something you like, but everyone is different and we should try and not take it so personally.

Electro is clearly a Microsoft customer, so it is highly unlikely he's here just to troll.

 

Also Randver I know i am personally frustratedwith all of the negativity and hypocrisy regarding Xbox. The media has been absolutely brutal.

Xbox One is under powered huh? Did they forget about a certain other company?

Masterchief is getting old? Oh really? What about the plumber that hosts parties, brawls, races, and continually has to save a princess? Or an adventurer that has 4 (about to be 5) games since 2006?

As I said Xbox does have flaws. The OS is much slower than Xbox 360. There NO arguing that. That is a flaw

 

This is about as productive and helpful as it would be if we were debating which dvd player was better.
