A documentation of my experience with the Xbox refund request system/team

Over the past month or so I have been very keen on testing out the Xbox refund request system.

It started with me actually requesting a refund for a game which would have fallen within the terms of refund. This game was Anthem but because I got the legion of dawn edition this game was about 100$CAD.

After requesting about 5 times I gave up especially since each request took 3 days to get a response from.

I also tried to get a name change refund requested stating it was made by a friend,I submitted the request only a few hours after the name change and it was denied.

Another game which I requested to have refunded I asked after a day of purchase and was still completely and utterly denied.

This system is completely flawed and the "people" who are in charge of managing this system simply don't do their job.

This needs to change because of how ridiculous this is.

In the case of anthem the game didn't work so by every means it should have been refunded but no they refuse and deny what I imagine is every single request they get.

Please change this.

Having enthusiasm to start buying stuff to try and get refunds is usually a sign this was going to be the inevitable outcome

It's your "experiment" that was flawed.I'm not saying the system is perfect but you went about things the wrong way.

Not sure why you think Anthem is eligible for a refund & requesting a refund 5 times after it was initially denied wont work.

I had Anthem since launch & apart from a few disconnects the game works perfectly fine.

The "my friend changed my gamertag" wont work either as you are held responsible for your account & anything that happens on it.

Not sure what the other game was or the "reason" for wanting a refund but by that time you had shown a pattern of trying to abuse the refund system.

I bought some dlc a few weeks ago & it turned out Microsoft had put the wrong price up so I had paid too much.I asked for a refund & got it within about 48 hours

It's clear enough - the problem comes when people don't read T&C's and merely skip through them, in the T&C's it says all purchases are final, refunds are not a given nor should they ever be viewed as such. The problem there isn't in the wording, the problem
is in the end user, who either fails to read it (and I'm guilty of that too - but I know the main points well enough to accept the risk!) or simply doesn't accept that their rights are fully within those T&C's and they are entitled to more.

As for testing it out, not something I'd do as not only do you run the risk of losing money but it also can flag up on your account in the same way if you return stuff all the time to one store you'll sooner or later wind up on a no more returns list.
